🏅 We are very happy with the #AEPAward received by the 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 project, first #HighSpeedRail system in the USA. 🚆In particular, the Palmdale to Burbank EIR/EIS has been recognized in the Environmental Analysis Document category of the California Association of Environmental Professionals Awards for its comprehensive environmental analysis, innovative public engagement, and rigorous technical studies. 🙌 A special recognition to our partner Circlepoint, which has led the preparation of the environmental documents and with whom we have been working on the project since 2015, and to the rest of the partners involved. 🛤️ At Sener we are especially proud of this project, where we acted as the main consultant, leading the collaboration of important North American #engineering companies and being responsible for the preliminary design and assessment of the alternatives to find the best solution, as well as the #EnvironmentalImpact analysis and the rights of way to be acquired for the track layout, stations and auxiliary elements, among others. #SenerMobility

📢 ¡Participamos en el diseño e implementación de una avanzada instalación de captura de CO₂ para la planta de procesamiento de residuos de AEB Amsterdam (Países Bajos) junto con ACCIONA y SLB Capturi! Denominado Aurora, este pionero proyecto marcará un antes y un después en la reducción de emisiones. 👇 Con un objetivo de 🌱 0,5 millones de toneladas de CO₂ capturadas para 2028, lo que supondrá una 🪴 disminución del 10% en las emisiones de la ciudad! 💡 ¿En qué consiste? El trabajo "Metodología multiescala para el desarrollo de sistemas de captura de CO2 basados en líquidos iónicos", del investigador Daniel Hospital Benito, y que ha sido dirigido por los profesores José Francisco Palomar Herrero y Jesús Lemus Torres de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, ha sido galardonado con el Premio a la Mejor Tesis Doctoral de la Fundación Sener. Un premio reconoce la excelencia y el aporte de soluciones innovadoras y sostenibles en ingeniería. 💡 Esta investigación pionera abre nuevas perspectivas en la lucha contra el cambio climático y la descarbonización de sectores clave como el energético e industrial. ➡️ Propone una metodología innovadora basada en líquidos iónicos, compuestos avanzados que presentan ventajas significativas frente a las tecnologías convencionales de absorción química. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Cristina Ginés as International Business Development Manager at Quark Unlimited Engineering, our subsidiary specialised in the design and construction of #DataCenters! This appointment comes after a successful career at #Sener of more than 20 years. Previously, Cristina has held the role of Head of International Business Development at Sener and, since 2016, as Director of Mobility Business Development for Europe, based in the UK and Madrid. Her experience and contribution have been crucial for some strategic contracts such as HS2 (High Speed London to Birmingham), the Edinburgh tramway or the new runway at Dublin Airport. Now, Cristina starts a new professional stage assuming full responsibilities in Quark, a growing company with more than 1GW of accumulated power in designed data centers and 350,000 square meters of built area. 📄 Report | Respira® by Sener, selected as a success case in UITP "The AI in Public Transport Knowledge Brief" 🚇 We are very pleased that Respira®, our Artificial Intelligence system for the optimization of ventilation and HVAC management, has been selected as one of the 17 real-life examples of successful #AI application in #PublicTransport. The cases presented at the report underscore the current impact of AI in three key areas: enhancing user experience, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening safety & security. 👩💻 Specifically, the application of Respira® in the #BarcelonaMetro Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has been highlighted in the category of "Predictive modeling with AI", in the infrastructure section. ☀️ A very challenging project due to the number of kilometers (170) and stations (+130) in the metro network, and to the city’s infrastructure and weather conditions, which can make the temperatures inside the stations uncomfortable for passengers. ❄️🍃 Thanks to Respira®, we manage to improve ventilation, guaranteeing the thermal comfort of the passengers and an adequate air quality, achieving great results: ➡️ 1.3 degree Celsius (°C) reduction in temperature. ➡️ 20.9% increase in fan performance. ➡️ 25.1% reduction in energy consumption. ➡️ 1,616 tons less CO2 emissions per year. ➡️ 10.7% increase in passenger satisfaction. 👁️ Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eb3qV8ni Special thanks to the #UITP AI Working Group (AI-WG) for their work in coordinating and developing this interesting brief, which is essential to understand how public transport organisations around the globe are using cutting-edge technology for a better decision-making aiming to render public transport more sustainable, safer, more efficient, and more comfortable for employees and passengers. #SenerMobility #SenerDigital #EnergyEfficiency

Para destacar su papel crucial, SPAINDC DC, la Asociación Española de Centros de Datos, apagó las emblemáticas pantallas de la madrileña Plaza de Callao ¿Por qué son tan importantes los centros de datos? 🔹 Servicios esenciales: sin centros de datos, no podríamos disfrutar de servicios como WhatsApp, Netflix, videollamadas, teletrabajo, pagos en línea, transacciones bancarias, citas médicas a distancia o tecnología avanzada como la inteligencia artificial. 🔹 Crecimiento y futuro: se espera una inversión de más de 58 000 millones de euros en el sector para 2030, con un crecimiento de la demanda del 90 % en los próximos cuatro años. 🔹 Infraestructura y sostenibilidad: España necesita invertir en infraestructura digital y redes de distribución eléctrica para evitar quedarse atrás en la digitalización. Además, los centros de datos en España utilizan energía 100 % renovable y representan menos del 0,2 % del consumo nacional de electricidad, implementando tecnologías avanzadas para mejorar la eficiencia energética. 📢 Yesterday, our colleague Eloy Paris, Director of Innovation Developments at Sener, visited CaminosUPM to present the lecture 'Transforming Tunnel Projects with Next-Gen Tools. A Digital Approach' at Digital Twins for Infrastructures & Cities Master, where he showcased our cutting-edge digital tools designed to enhance tunnel construction, operation and maintenance. 🚇Urban #tunnels are a key element for #SustainableMobility, but their complexity demands innovative digital solutions to ensure risk reduction, optimization of TBMs work, digitalisation of management and extension of the life cycle of the infrastructure. These solutions provide the needed knowledge to mitigate risk and manage the construction and operation stage: ➡️ ACROTDigital: integrated into ACROTExcavation service, ACROTDigital takes advantage of analytical techniques applicated to operational parameters, transforming this data into accurate and reliable information that facilitates and improves decision-making in the event of anomalies or risky situations during tunnelling operations. ➡️ ACROTMaintenance: a complete package of digital solutions for managing tunnel maintenance, including applications to improve inspections and automated inspection devices as DITER, capable to inspect, classify and quantify defects in motion with performance rates of 2000m/h. ⚡To sum up, digitalization transforms TBM operation and tunnel maintenance management, achieving unmachted efficiency over traditional methods: 👷♀️ In the construction stage, up to 10 times settlement reduction and up to 50% boring times improvement. 💻 In the operation stage, up to 80% office work and global cost reduction. 🤝 It was an honour to be part of this cycle of conferences, thanks to Digital Twins for Infrastructures & Cities for making it possible and to Caminos UPM for hosting the session. 🦾We're heading back to #Mars! This time, we're contributing key systems for the Rosalind Franklin rover, part of the European Space Agency - ESA's #ExoMars programme, which will search for evidence of past life on the Red Planet. 🔍The Rosalind Franklin mission is designed to drill down to two metres beneath the Martian surface, retrieving and analysing subsurface samples in the search for organic compounds and biosignatures of ancient life. This mission is crucial not only for expanding our understanding of life beyond Earth but also for paving the way for future crewed missions to Mars. 🔩At Sener, we are bringing our extensive expertise in electromechanical and navigation systems to deliver critical components for the Rosalind Franklin rover. Our contribution includes the separation mechanisms for descent, the landing gear, the umbilical separation mechanism, communication antennas, the drill translation mechanism, and the deployment and anchoring systems for the rover’s solar panels. 🔴This mission will join Perseverance and Curiosity, the two rovers currently exploring Mars, where Sener continues to ensure the precision and reliability required for mission success.
