📺 [Enlace a la noticia] (https://lnkd.in/dhJ_zQef) 🎥✨ 5G Robot Race demo featured on national TV! Last week, we had the honor of having Informativos Telecinco report on our 5G Robot Race demo, developed as part of the European FIDAL-VLC (FIDAL PROJECT, Grant agreement ID: 101096146) project and the national UNICO 5G R&D programs Advancing-5G-Immersive-Haptics (TSI-063000-2021-111) and Advancing-5G-Twins (TSI-063000-2021-114). This demonstration showcased the integration of 5G private networks, real-time robot teleoperation, augmented reality, haptic feedback, and digital twins—enabling fully immersive and responsive remote robot driving over a low-latency, high-reliability 5G private network. 🎙️ The interview featured me from iTEAM Research Institute of Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Andres Herranz Castellanos from MasOrange, Gerardo Martinez Pinzon from Fivecomm, and Sheila Sánchez Rodríguez and Sandra Moreno Olivares from Robotnik Automation Big thanks to Telecinco for helping us bring advanced 5G applications closer to the public. 📣iTEAM Research Institute, Telefónica and Brainstorm Multimedia carry out a pioneering live holographic telepresence pilot on a TV set. The iTEAM Research Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Telefónica, and Brainstorm Multimedia have carried out a groundbreaking technological pilot that enables telepresence through real-time communication using three-dimensional holograms. This trial took place at La Cabina, the Innovation and Talent Hub located at Telefónica’s headquarters in Distrito T, as part of collaborative activities between the companies aimed at enabling impactful communication. It represents a significant step forward in the application of immersive technologies and remote communications. The pilot showcased an interview in which Guillermo Bataller, Head of Transformation and Innovation Projects at Telefónica, appeared holographically in a specially equipped TV space at Espacio Movistar using Brainstorm’s production system. From that studio, an interviewer was able to hold a smooth conversation with the 3D hologram of Guillermo Bataller, who was actually located at the volumetric capture set in LaCabina, which features an advanced volumetric video streaming system. Attendees at the studio could see and hear both participants as if they were in the same space. ➡️Using these advanced immersive communication technologies, the pilot demonstrated how holograms can become a viable means of effective remote communication in future scenarios.
