#DeepCeres: A Breakthrough in Cerebellum🧠 Research 👩💻👨💻A team from the MIA LAB UPV Medical Image Analysis ITACA-UPV, led by Jose Vicente Manjon and Sergio Morell Ortega, and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) have developed DeepCeres, the world’s most advanced software for studying the human cerebellum using high-resolution MRI. 😀This innovation, recently published in NeuroImage, will help in the research and diagnosis of diseases like ALS, schizophrenia, autism and Alzheimer’s. 👉Despite its small size, the cerebellum holds 50% of all brain neurons and is crucial for cognitive, emotional, and motor functions. However, its complex anatomy has made precise segmentation a challenge—until now. #DeepCeres allows: ✅ Measures 27 cerebellar structures with unmatched accuracy. ✅ Uses AI to enhance MRI resolution from 1 mm³ to 0.125 mm³, offering ultra-detailed images. ✅ Provides a powerful, accessible tool for researchers and clinicians worldwide. 👨🏫"It’s like going from a black-and-white image to a color image", explains Prof. José Vicente Manjón, lead researcher on the project. 👉More details in this news🗞️: https://lnkd.in/dqgmXiqG #Neuroscience #AI #MedicalImaging #Cerebellum #DeepLearning #HealthcareInnovation #UPV #CNRS

🗓️International Day of Forests: 21 March 🌍 🟢🔵 #Climatechange has driven countries and organizations to seek solutions to mitigate its effects. #Forests🌲🌳, though vulnerable, play a crucial role in this fight by acting as carbon sinks, capturing CO₂ from the atmosphere and storing it as biomass. 🤔However, their capacity is increasingly threatened by #wildfires, #droughts, and other frequent natural disasters. 👉In response, the 👩💻👨💻ICTvsCC group at the ITACA-UPV is coordinating the Informa Forests project to improve #ForestManagement in the face of #ClimateChange. ✅With a budget of €5.3 million and collaboration from 14 partners across eight countries, the project aims to sustain and enhance #carbon sinks in five of Europe’s most representative biogeographical regions. 😃Additionally, INFORMA contributes to developing rigorous methodologies for quantifying and verifying #carbon offset markets, fostering a sustainable forest #bioeconomy. In Spain, where wildfires pose a significant threat, we analyze strategies to optimize carbon sequestration and promote the #sustainable♻️ transformation of forest products such as #wood, cork, and #biomass. 🙌On this International Day of Forests, we reaffirm our commitment to #research and #innovation to protect our ecosystems and combat #ClimateChange. 👉In this link you can know more details about the project: 🔗https://lnkd.in/d9yR4JZq #Forests #Sustainability #Research #ClimateChange #ITACA #INFORMAForests #Carbon #HorizonEurope
