His session, “From fuel to electricity: the role of batteries in the car of the future”, sparked lively questions and great ideas about the electric transition and the role solid-state batteries will play in the vehicles of tomorrow. (EN) BASQUEVOLT marks an important milestone in its journey toward industrial consolidation! Pablo Fernandez-Santos, our newly appointed Managing Director, held an initial meeting with Mikel Jauregi, the Basque Government's Minister of Industry, Energy Transition, and Sustainability at a truly strategic moment for the company. Pablo, a founding member of BASQUEVOLT and former CTO, brings a strong technological and industrial vision to the role, aiming to scale up our solid-state battery technology and integrate it into key sectors such as automotive, light mobility, aerospace, and stationary storage. His appointment comes right after securing a €10 million injection, backed by Ekarpen, Stellum Capital, and CDTI Innovación - Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación, critical funding that will support our first production steps in the Basque Country and strengthen partnerships within the local ecosystem. “Public-private collaboration will remain a key driver as we pursue our mission to produce next-generation batteries from the Basque Country to the world,” Pablo shared after the meeting. El nombramiento de Pablo, miembro del equipo fundador y hasta ahora CTO, refuerza nuestra apuesta por una dirección con visión tecnológica e industrial, orientada a llevar nuestras baterías de estado sólido desde el laboratorio hasta su integración en sectores clave como la automoción, la movilidad ligera, la aeronáutica o el almacenamiento estacionario.
