The ISACA Foundation (previously known as One In Tech) was founded in 2020 to enable a global community of digital trust professionals to support the next generation of IT audit, risk, security, assurance and cyber leaders. The purpose of ISACA Foundation is to ensure diversity and inclusion in technology careers, and to remove barriers to ensure the IT audit, risk, security, assurance and cyber professions are accessible for all. SheLeadsTech is the banner program of ISACA Foundation. Initially founded in 2017, we are proud to say that we were the very first and beforehand pillar of ISACA Foundation. SheLeadsTech empowers women to enhance their professional skills and advocate for their career advancement, and brings global awareness to the lack of gender diversity in IS/IT professions, particularly within leadership roles. ISACA is committed to investing in this important work and the people it supports. Our mission is to increase the representation of women in technology leadership roles and the tech workforce through awareness, inspiration, and cooperation with companies and educational institutions. Our SheLeadsTech program pillars are RAISING AWARENESS, PREPARING TO LEAD and BUILDING GLOBAL ALLIANCES. In SheLeadsTech Denmark, we arrange network events in collaboration with local companies and organizations, with professional presentations and talks about gender diversity in the Danish IT sector, as well as inspiring role-model career stories. 🌟 A few days ago, Danfoss’ ERG Women@Danfoss, in collaboration with SheLeadsTech - Denmark and High5Girls launched a career development event for female in Tech. It was a powerful reminder of both the progress we've made and the challenges we still face in advancing women in Tech field. The event featured four compelling presentations, each shedding light on different aspects of women’s experiences and careers in the tech industry: 💬 Jessica Havermann, Chief data officer at Danfoss shared her journey as a woman in STEM, including insights and hard-earned advice for navigating a a technical career from specialist to leadership. 💬 High5Girls (Marianne Andersen & Laura Bonde Holst) shared their mission to empower young women in tech. Their role models gave us a peek into how impactful mentorship can be for girls just starting out. 💬 Finally, we heard from Gitte Frydenvang who recently launched her own tech company, showcasing the courage and creativity it takes to break new ground in this space. The session was filled with valuable takeaways, but one statistic hit me particularly hard: "40-50% of technical women leave STEM within their first 5-7 years on the job". (Forbes, 2024) 🚨 This highlights the urgency of building supportive, inclusive environments where women can not only survive but thrive in STEM companies and field. A massive thank you to the organizing team for bringing together such impactful voices. Together, we’re sparking the conversations that create change. #Rolemodels are important for us all. In High5Girls we work to get more girls 13-19 years old to see how interesting and important a #STEM career is. You can be creative and solve big issues in society for people. (STEM = Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) During last weekend rolemodels from Agilent showed what they do: they use technology to diagnose cancer earlier. And the earlier you diagnose cancer, the better prognosis is... When girls meet rolemodels they see: If she can, I can.... Many girls do not know STEM females such as female engineers. Rolemodels are the core of High5Girls and needed to change the fact that few girls can see themselves in a STEM career.
