⚡🔥 Danfoss powering heat pumps: A powerful lever in the green transition 🌱🌍 Decarbonizing Europe’s heating is essential to realizing the continent’s climate ambitions. Following the guidance on avoided emissions given by the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Net Zero Initiative, we conducted a case study considering the different climates and grid emissions in the 8 countries that make up over 80% of the heating need in Europe. We found that heat pumps offer significant advantages over gas boilers in most European countries, with their efficiencies further increasing when using the Danfoss VZN175 compressor. The VZN175 achieves up to 70kW heating capacity with a single compressor, unlike traditional systems. This results in heat pumps avoiding up to 477 tons of CO₂ emissions over its lifetime compared to traditional gas boilers. Only though low-carbon innovation can a green transition be achieved. 🔗 Read our Danfoss report on avoided emissions here: https://lnkd.in/e2pAUiMJ 🔗 Access the WBCSD guidance on avoided emissions here: https://lnkd.in/eeiWD-Vy #Decarbonization #AvoidedEmissions #GreenTransition #EnergyEfficiency #SustainableSolutions

What a week at #Bauma2025! At this year’s show, Danfoss Power Solutions demonstrated how we’re engineering the future of construction — showcasing our latest innovations in hydraulics, electrification, eHydraulics, digitalization, and software. Our booth was more than a display of new products — it was a reflection of how Danfoss partners with customers to increase machine productivity and efficiency while reducing emissions. These are the solutions that help move the construction industry toward a more sustainable future. Among the launches were the X1P open circuit piston pump and LCL1200B electric filter, both designed to optimize machine performance and support the green transition. The energy and engagement throughout the week were remarkable — from insightful conversations with customers to exploring new opportunities for collaboration. To the Danfoss team behind the experience: thank you for bringing our purpose to life with passion and precision. Your dedication made this a standout moment. We’re proud of the impact we’re making — and we’re just getting started. #Danfoss #WeAreDanfoss #Sustainability #Decarbonization #Electrification

We welcome the release of the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s new special report on Energy & AI, which highlights that electricity demand from data centres worldwide is set to more than double by 2030, requiring a diverse range of energy sources to meet this demand. However, energy efficiency must be prioritized across all aspects of design and operation. This includes advanced cooling systems, variable speed drives, and AI-driven energy management. Given their foundational role in modern society, data centers require integrated planning to avoid costly inefficiencies. Capturing excess heat from data centers can power homes and industries, meeting up to 10% of Europe’s space heating needs. This requires a strategic effort to connect data centers with industries and districts capable of using this heat efficiently. Reusing excess heat from data centers also eliminates the need for cooling towers to process waste heat and saves water. At Danfoss, we are committed to enhancing data centers efficiency and are proud to have contributed to this important IEA report, helping to shape the conversation on the future of energy and AI. An AI-powered partnership for a low-carbon future. We’re expanding our collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate the global transition to a more sustainable, energy-efficient world. By combining our expertise in decarbonization and energy-efficient technologies with Microsoft’s strengths in AI and Danfoss’ cloud innovation, we’re delivering scalable digital solutions that help industries — like food retail — significantly reduce their environmental footprint. Through Danfoss Climate Solutions Alsense® — a cloud-based platform powered by Microsoft technologies — supermarkets can reduce food waste by up to 30% and cut energy consumption on refrigeration by up to 15%. As Lars G. Andersen, General Manager of 12 stores in Coop i Danmark, puts it: “Alsense makes my grocery business more efficient. The 24/7 monitoring is our eyes and ears, it gives me peace of mind and saves the stores a lot of money by detecting and avoiding incidents before they grow into larger issues. It allows me to identify which store have refrigerant leaks. Without this solution, I couldn’t be running my Coop 365 shops efficiently.” Together, Danfoss and Microsoft are demonstrating how AI can be a real enabler of climate action — removing adoption barriers, accelerating innovation, and driving measurable impact. Industry accounts for a third of global energy consumption, making it one of the toughest sectors to decarbonize. At Danfoss, we believe industry plays a crucial role in fighting climate change. Our Nordborg headquarters reached CO2-neutrality in 2022, showcasing the real impact of competitive decarbonization. By optimizing energy use and reusing excess heat, we're paving the road for a sustainable future. By decarbonizing our own operations globally, Danfoss applies the same approach with its customers. It’s called: Reduce, reuse, re-source. Torben Christensen, our Chief Sustainability Officer & Head of Global Services, emphasizes, “Our three-step decarbonization approach has proven to be an effective roadmap for industry to decarbonize their growth quickly and cost-efficiently with our solutions readily available.” Check out the video to discover how we’re transforming our global operations and helping our customers do the same. Competitive decarbonization is a powerful driver of future growth for our customers and partners. But to decarbonize effectively, sequence matters. The first and most crucial step is reducing energy demand, setting the foundation for a smarter, more sustainable transition. Firstly, we reduce energy waste by scaling energy-efficient technologies and increasing machine productivity. Secondly, we focus on reusing energy through energy recovery and sector coupling. And thirdly, we re-source green energy by replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. Only in this sequence can we achieve rapid and cost-efficient decarbonization. We apply the same three-step approach: Reduce, Reuse, Re-source to decarbonize our own operations globally and this is done by using the same Danfoss technologies and solutions that we develop for our customers. Discover how we're decarbonizing our own operations globally to meet our goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2030. https://lnkd.in/gqC88yrP #CompetitiveDecarbonization #Decarbonization #EnergyEfficiency

European competitiveness is waning and dependency on energy imports continues to burden the economy. Solving these challenges requires a new industrial strategy that utilizes and supports Europe’s leading edge in select clean technologies. We call it Competitive Decarbonization. Our ‘Blueprint for competitive decarbonization of European industry’ outlines how to enhance energy security, drive technological innovation, and bolster competitiveness – in policy and in practice. For example: - By investing in energy efficiency, renewables, and electrification, the EU can reduce gas consumption by 27 billion cubic meters, which equals 80% of last year’s total gas imports from Russia. - Applying one technology alone - variable speed drives - we can save EU industry EUR 22.6 billion in electricity costs annually. These savings can fuel investments in research, innovation, and growth and many more technologies are available. Industry doesn’t need to wait for policy; it can begin its transformation today with proven solutions. However, with a consistent, predictable vision for European industry, policymakers can accelerate adoption and place Europe at the forefront of both global markets and industrial decarbonization.
