This World Water Day let’s spotlight the water association Region Bern (WVRB), which supplies over 250,000 people with 20.9 million cubic meters of drinking water annually. In 2023, WVRB commissioned the new Wehrliau pumping station, delivering up to 20,000 liters of drinking water per minute. With such a critical role, reliability and energy efficiency are top priorities. That’s why WVRB chose Danfoss iC7 drives. In collaboration with service partner Gebrüder Meier, we developed a solution that ensures uninterrupted operation while meeting strict harmonic mitigation requirements. Equipped with a low-harmonic front end based on AFE technology, the iC7 drive optimizes performance and minimizes harmonic distortion in the power supply. Plus, with a 30% smaller footprint than similar drives on the market, it was the perfect fit for the space-constrained Wehrliau pumping station.
