We should invest money in research and the creation of technological progress in this field,” Christian also told FAZ, one of the most important German daily and business newspapers. “Last year, half of Europe's electricity already came from domestic, renewable energy sources. “Companies can become faster, more innovative and more cost-efficient with the help of AI. “Politicians should definitely reduce bureaucracy and set the framework conditions so that work and endeavours are worthwhile. Combined with the well-educated people in our country, Germany will remain a strong business location. We were delighted to host a very eager and inquisitive group of MBA students from ESSEC Business School for their Product Management Career Lab field trip to Munich. Hello from Frankfurt! I attended ISH 2025 today, where I joined a panel discussion about how innovation in sustainable energy is more urgent than ever! While the EU’s aim to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 is ambitious, I believe we can get there with the right mix of innovation, investment, and action. It makes me optimistic to see the startup world partnering with large caps in Europe to accelerate our transformation! Here are some of the key takeaways from my session: 👉 Technology is advancing fast, but we need the right infrastructure, policies, and incentives for smart solutions, electrification, and AI-driven efficiency to make an impact. 👉 The shift to EVs showed us how quickly industries can evolve when innovation meets consumer demand. So, what can we learn from that to accelerate the broader energy transition? 👉 People need to trust that sustainable energy solutions are affordable, accessible, and beneficial, not just in the long term but in their daily lives. I had a great time discussing these topics with Enrique Vilamitjana (MD Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe), Christian Deilmann (Co-founder tado°), and our moderator and sustainability expert Anja Floetenmeyer-Woltmann. Nico believes communication and education will be major drivers in accelerating the energy transition and adopting the solutions available. He told the panel: “Spend some time and use the opportunity to learn about new technologies yourself a little bit because very often the fears are because of a lack of information. “What’s out there? What are the solutions? Is it really like others are saying that it’s more expensive, or hey I might not have enough electricity at my house or whatever, because actually most of the time it is not.
