From kangaroos to glass and can lines 🦘🏭 Hi, I'm Selina and as Delivery Automation Engineer at SYSKRON, I'm part of the #KronesDigital community and responsible for setting up our Line Management system. For a customer project, I spent seven months in Australia and was in charge of the automation of all machines along the customer's production line. ⬇️ Here are some insights into the experiences I gathered during this time. 👨👩👧👦 One of the biggest advantages was the team on site. Everyone supported each other as much as possible, especially when homesickness struck. I lived with a few colleagues for a while and we often sat together in the evenings, cooking and enjoying each other's company. 🏄 Of course, I took the opportunity to explore Australia - with hikes, kayaking, surfing, diving, city trips, attending rugby games, shopping, partying, and beach days. Some special memories that I will take with me from my time in Australia include watching the sunrise at Bare Rock Main Range National Park, admiring the underwater art gallery at the Great Barrier Reef, and having a girls' weekend with my cousin in Melbourne for the Australian Open women's finals. 🥇 My personal highlight was definitely participating in the Australian National Handball Championships and winning the gold medal. After my arrival, I quickly realised that I wanted to pursue my passion for handball here too. Being able to celebrate such a great success was something very special that I will always remember. 🎢 I learned a lot during this time - about myself, our machines, our work methods, and our potential. I had the opportunity to try out my own ideas, test them, and bring them to life. Every day brought new challenges, some of which were not easy and pushed me to my limits, but it was great to see the progress of my work. 💭 Do you also dream of combining work and travelling the world?
