The Secret HR Society, which embarked on its mission in October 2015 thanks to founders Anna Ott and Hilary Klassen, continues to redefine the strategic importance of Human Resources in modern organizations. This exclusive society, accessible only through member referrals, is dedicated to developing HR practices and establishing a global network of thought leaders. As the society has grown, we have expanded to include a steering committee (Steerco) comprising Anna Ott, Hilary Klassen, Sebastian Dietrich, and Sonita Uijt de Haag. Currently, the society is a community of over 1,700 HR professionals who engage in knowledge exchange through Slack and virtual and in-person meetings, with Berlin being a notable hub for such gatherings. This diverse community comprises individuals from both tech startups and established large corporations. The Secret HR Society is committed to building a tight-knit network of peers who utilize online and offline platforms to share insights, collaborate and challenge conventional thinking. Members are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, test innovative ideas, and inspire others to create an improved HR function. Through these collaborative efforts, the society aims to redefine and elevate the role of HR within the global business landscape.
