🚀 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀´ 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 - 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 💡 Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming seven young girls to our site on Neuenhofstraße as part of Girls' Day! This nationwide initiative gives girls the chance to explore exciting career paths in traditionally male-dominated fields – and who knows, maybe even discover their future dream job in engineering or software development! During factory tours and inspiring talks, our apprentices and colleague Annegret Wörndle shared their career journeys, giving our visitors a real behind-the-scenes look at the world of tech. Then came the real action – hands-on work in our electrical workshop! Guided by our workshop team, the girls could solder their own functional workpieces, which they proudly took home as a reminder of their day as upcoming engineers. Who knows? Maybe in a few years, we’ll welcome some of them back – this time as colleagues! A big thank you to everyone who joined us. 🚀 Women in Motion: Celebrating Girls’ Day with Jyotsana Singh On the occasion of Girls' Day, we continue our global Women in Motion journey—this time in India! 🌍✨ Meet Jyotsana Singh, an architect for Software-Defined Vehicles and ADAS&AD at FEV India Pvt Ltd. With nearly a decade of experience in autonomous driving, Jyotsana has been a trailblazer in this field since 2013—when the technology was still in its infancy in India. One of her most remarkable achievements? Together with her team, she was able to evolve a demonstrator into a fully functional showcase, navigating multiple challenges, securing a customer, and ultimately bringing the software to German public roads at various events. 🚗💡 Her passion for technology started young, inspired by the futuristic world of The Jetsons. The show sparked her curiosity about flying cars, robots, and innovation—leading her to pursue a career where she could turn sci-fi into reality. Beyond her work, the mother of a young child is a strong advocate for women in engineering, encouraging young girls to break barriers in tech. Her advice to aspiring female engineers: “𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳! 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. Over the past few days, we attended the 𝗠𝗧𝗭 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 "𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 hosted by Springer Fachmedien: ATZ/MTZ in Berlin, engaging in in-depth discussions about the future of sustainable mobility. In his keynote, our COO Dr. Norbert W. Alt emphasized a critical fact: the 1.5°C target has already been exceeded – without additional measures, we are heading towards a 4°C rise. In addition to electrification, a strong market penetration of (BEV-based) hybrids and, in the long run, climate-neutral fuels will be essential. Dr. Alt also joined experts from politics and industry to discuss the future of energy and mobility – how are global markets evolving? 🚚 🚙 𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 🚗 🚌 🇪🇺 Together with international partners from industry and research, we are driving forward the development of 800 V (and above) vehicle systems in the EU-funded HiVEP project. ⚡ FEV's focus is on the development of a 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿. While two-level inverters are currently used predominantly in vehicle technology, inverters with three or more levels find application in power supply and grid transmission systems, for example. 💡 The development of a corresponding system for #mobility applications is intended to help improve the overall efficiency of the vehicle and reduce system costs. In addition to the modeling and evaluation of topologies, the project includes the actual design of multi-level inverters, including the associated control software. The development results are then validated in corresponding prototypes, including a vehicle demonstrator. In addition to FEV, the RWTH Aachen University Coventry University, University of Surrey and University of Ljubljana are participating in the consortium. Industry partners are Magna International, Togg, AMPHERR AG and fka GmbH. The project, which is funded by the European Union's HORIZON2020 program, was launched earlier this year and will run until the end of January 2028.
