We’re proud to support groundbreaking research led by Prof. Carolin Daniel and her team at Helmholtz Munich, exploring immune modulation as a novel approach to treat metabolic diseases. 🔎 Their latest study, published in Nature Portfolio - Nature Communications, shows how targeting the CD40L-CD40 pathway reduces inflammation and improves metabolic function - opening new doors for immune-based therapies for type 2 diabetes and obesity. Prof. Daniel is also a recipient of the EFSD/JDRF/Lilly Programme on Type 1 Diabetes Research (2020) grant, and we’re thrilled to see her team’s continued impact on the field. 📖 Read the publication: https://lnkd.in/d29UM2uB #EFSD #diabetes #research #metabolism #type2diabetes #precisionmedicine
Fighting Metabolic Diseases Through Immune Modulation How does the immune system influence metabolism? 💡 A new study from #HelmholtzMunich and #DZD uncovers a key link between the immune system and metabolism in the brain’s hypothalamic region. The researchers found that regulatory T cells (Tregs) not only regulate immunity but also support metabolic balance. The results open new perspectives on immune-based therapies as a promising approach for treating metabolic diseases, including #obesity and #Type2diabetes. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/d7WCmehq Carolin Daniel Matthias H.
