3 days, 4 team members, 892 km on the road, hundreds of virtual business cards collected from companies across 38 countries, but in-cosmetics Global 2025 was much more than numbers: It gave us a glimpse into industrial challenges, market values and how our product will come into play. It is clear – #fermentation has already a well-established place in the cosmetics industry and the market is ready to embrace fermentation-based ingredients. We are glad to spear-head this movement and build the markets together with like-minded startups of which we met NoPalm Ingredients with Prof Dr Jeroen Hugenholtz, Julie Cortal-Oosterveer, Rosan van der Glas,Peter Roosink and Global Sustainable Transformation GST with Dr. Mahmoud Masri, Franziska Meyer, Ayşe Koruyucu, and Melt&Marble with Thomas Cresswell, Mycolever with Dr. Britta Winterberg, Niels Dietzsch, David Paffen, and BIOWEG with Prateek M., Maelle Trouillot and Renuka Nagarnaik. A true highlight: connecting with pioneers we admire like Geno with Kyle Huston and Eric A., that is working on alternatives to medium-chain fatty acid derivatives (palm kernel oil) together with Kao Corporation, L'Oréal, and Unilever, and LanzaTech with Björn Heijstra and Stevan Milovic, the only gas fermentation company to date rolling out anaerobic syngas fermentation at industrial scale – turning off-gas emissions into new materials. We also had the chance to reconnect with familiar faces like the important representative of the French cosmetics industry Cosmetic Valley with Isabelle CAILLEAUX de COLIGNY, Fanélie Sauvagère and Marie Fuentes – who once awarded us a prize. Now - and in the weeks to come - it is about implementing the learnings and turning the leads into revenue. Thank you, Amsterdam. We had fun, we learned, and we’re moving forward. #ClimateOil #PlanetAteam #CarbonUtilization #SustainableBeauty #InCosmeticsGlobal #fermentation
