Today, we had the privilege of preparing meals for families in need, and visiting Makarios Hospital, where we shared Easter gifts with the children and offered warm drinks to their parents—a gesture of comfort and support during a difficult time. At IANUS, we believe that standing by those who need it most is not just important—it’s essential. We are proud to be part of efforts that bring #joy, #relief, and #hope to others, and we will continue to #support initiatives that truly make a difference. Another successful exhibition presence for IANUS Technologies! IANUS Technologies participated in BEYOND Expo 2025, held from April 4th to 6th in Athens – the International #Exhibition for #Digital #Technology and #Innovation. #BEYONDExpo serves as a key meeting point for the most innovative companies and cutting-edge technologies, and we are proud to have been part of such a dynamic and inspiring event. Representing IANUS were: Director Georgios Kioumourtzis, CTO Irene Barri, Human Rights & International Politics Researcher Nasos Chronis, and Junior Software Developer Christos Ioannides.

After 30 months of research, innovation and collaboration, the LAGO project is officially approaching the end with a powerful finale in Palermo. 🇪🇺🔐 Represented by Evangelos Michos, IANUS participated in the 8th and final Plenary Meeting and the concluding Workshop hosted by Polizia di Stato and supported by DG HOME. The last days were a true celebration of everything we’ve accomplished together. We gathered law enforcement agencies, researchers, policymakers and industry experts from across Europe — all committed to shaping the future of secure, interoperable and sustainable research data sharing for security. 🔹 The meeting offered a comprehensive view of LAGO’s achievements and we tackled data sharing challenges, legal frameworks and the long-term impact of our tools, the RDE platform and the outputs. 🔹 This event further enforced our commitment to fostering responsible data ecosystems that meet the real needs of LEAs and the broader research community. 💬 Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible — especially our hosts Polizia di Stato, our coordinator Engineering Group and the entire consortium. Today, the LAGO team has gathered in beautiful Palermo for our 8th and final Plenary Meeting, hosted by our partner Polizia di Stato. As we approach the end of the project in April, we’re spending the day reviewing our progress and planning our final steps. The agenda is full, covering key areas across the consortium. Engineering Group is guiding us through project management and coordination, while the Cybercrime Research Institute GmbH led the session on ethical, societal, and legal screening. We have also explored research data creation and provision with the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), and data usage with ICCS - NTUA . INOV has facilitated the discussion on dataset governance, followed by Engineering Group presenting the framework of the EU FCT Trusted Research Data Ecosystem, and CENTRIC mapping the steps towards its implementation. Our colleagues from IANUS Technologies will update us on training and awareness, and to close the day, Vicomtech will address sustainability planning. Thank you to Polizia di Stato for hosting us here in Palermo and all our partners for their dedication throughout this journey. This Thursday, the SAFE-CITIES Final Demonstration takes place in Nova Gorica – and we’re already here, enjoying the vibe of this welcoming city, which, together with Gorizia, is the borderless European Capital of Culture 2025. 🎭🌍 As we prepare for this key event, we’re also holding a project meeting to review progress and align on the final steps ahead. Where are we now? ✔️ We’ve entered the final phase of the project, marked by this week’s demo session ✔️ The team is working in line with the roadmap, with the next 3 months already mapped out ✔️ This week’s meetings will help us gather valuable feedback, refine the tools and engage end users ✔️ The project will wrap up with a final Review Meeting in Brussels this June It’s certainly a busy time, but we've managed it well since the beginning. 🔎 How do the SAFE-CITIES solutions for public space security work in practice? Mass shootings, terrorist attacks, vehicle weaponisation, panic in crowds, aggressive behaviour – these are just some of the threats public areas can face. The SAFE-CITIES Platform is a suite of tools designed to enhance our ability to respond to such incidents. It includes: 🔹 𝐒𝐁𝐒 (𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 & 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫) – an advanced tool for creating 3D models of public spaces and simulating complex security scenarios, particularly for large events and crowded environments. 🔹 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄 (𝐒𝐄𝐜𝐮𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐲 a𝐕𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭) – enables users to visually assess public spaces on a map, adding vital spatial context for more accurate analysis. 🔹 𝐒𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 – a reporting and data visualisation tool that turns raw security data into clear, actionable insights.
