World Autism Awareness Day! Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we reflect on the importance of fostering an inclusive, supportive, and understanding environment for individuals with autism. At Queen Square, we recognize that each person is unique. As a primary care clinic, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to every patient, including those with autism. Today is Pandemic Observance Day. Five years ago, the World Health Organization declared a global emergency in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. In the wake of this emergency, Queen Square Family Health Team swiftly established the COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre at City of Brampton’s Snelgrove Community Centre. During this time, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, administrative staff, medical laboratory professionals, community ambassadors, and partners all stepped up and worked together to provide critical services, including clinical assessments, testing, vaccines, therapeutics, education and resource navigation. As we reflect on this day, we honour those we lost, recognize the lessons learned, and reaffirm our commitment to a healthier, more resilient future.
