Urban trails aren’t just paths, they’re powerful community connectors. In our most recent episode of Breaking Ground, Making Waves, our VP of Community Engagement Diana Philip sat down with Kindra McDonald Greene and Morgan Willett of the The Elizabeth River Trail Foundation, two passionate community leaders reimagining what an urban green space can be. From glow-in-the-dark trail sections to community-driven programming and climate resilience, their work goes far beyond recreation. It's about creating access, equity, and environmental stewardship in the heart of Norfolk, VA. 🎥 Watch the full conversation to learn how they’re building a trail that’s not just walked, but deeply loved: https://lnkd.in/gSaftqPB Or read the highlights on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gjHs9k73 #CommunityLeadership #UrbanResilience #ElizabethRiverTrail #Planetary

Carbon removal through ocean alkalinity enhancement. Restore the Climate. Heal the Ocean.
About us
Planetary is on a mission to fight climate change by helping the ocean remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We strive to enhance the planet’s largest natural carbon removal process: the geologic carbon cycle. We work collaboratively with world-class scientific institutions, regulators, and local communities to develop safe and sustainable carbon removal methods.

The largest natural carbon removal process on the planet is not #reforestation but the geologic carbon cycle. This natural process is what inspires the Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) method developed by Planetary. Using this innovative technique, the company adds an antacid to seawater to neutralize already absorbed CO2 and reduce harmful ocean acidity, enabling the #ocean to safely capture excess atmospheric carbon and store it for up to 100,000 years. OAE mimics the natural geologic capture of carbon, achieving results within months instead of millennia. The process results in the safe, permanent removal of CO2, helping to combat ocean acidification and #climate change by restoring the ocean’s vital chemistry. While reforestation accelerates #carbon dioxide removal on land, alkalinity enhancement boosts removal efforts at sea.

Canada's window of opportunity in carbon removal is NOW! Proud to be featured in Latitude Media discussing this critical moment. "We absolutely are seeing a lot more interest in Canada from [both] American companies and companies that were thinking about setting up shop in America. The biggest thing we hear is they want policy certainty, and they don't feel like they're getting that in the United States." At Carbon Removal Canada, we're witnessing unprecedented interest - our annual Carbon Removal Day doubled in attendance this year, with international participants making a large percentage of the attendees. This isn't just chance. Our federal DAC protocol, robust tax incentives, and political pragmatism across party lines create the stability that innovation demands. The potential? 300,000+ jobs, $143B in GDP, and billions in demand for trade-impacted industries. Interested in Canada for your #carbonremoval company? Let's talk. https://lnkd.in/ge-d3gZ2 #CarbonRemoval #ClimateAction #CleanTech #Canada

It was an honor to be part of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Climate Lecture Series in Norfolk, Virginia where U.S Senator Tim Kaine, highlighted the urgent need for climate action. His message was clear: tackling climate change requires collective action, and collaboration across sectors is key. I was also thrilled to see a strong lineup of leaders at the event, including Congressman Bobby Scott, Norfolk Commissioner of the Revenue Blythe Scott, CBF President Hilary Harp Falk, Delegate Michael Feggans, and former Governor Ralph Northam. This series marks an important step in fostering conversations around climate action, and I’m proud that Planetary could sponsor this initiative as part of our commitment to community engagement in Norfolk. Special thanks to April Strickland from CBF! Excited for the work ahead! #ClimateAction #CommunityEngagement #Norfolk #Sustainability #Planetary
