The largest natural carbon removal process on the planet is not #reforestation but the geologic carbon cycle. This natural process is what inspires the Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) method developed by Planetary. Using this innovative technique, the company adds an antacid to seawater to neutralize already absorbed CO2 and reduce harmful ocean acidity, enabling the #ocean to safely capture excess atmospheric carbon and store it for up to 100,000 years. OAE mimics the natural geologic capture of carbon, achieving results within months instead of millennia. The process results in the safe, permanent removal of CO2, helping to combat ocean acidification and #climate change by restoring the ocean’s vital chemistry. While reforestation accelerates #carbon dioxide removal on land, alkalinity enhancement boosts removal efforts at sea.
