  • This National Tourism Week, we've been reflecting on GO Transit's collaborative work with our valued tourism partners to promote leisure and tourism travel in the region.    We work closely with destination marketing organizations across the region to promote taking GO Transit for leisure and tourism experiences, like a visit to Niagara Falls with Niagara Parks Commission and Niagara Falls Tourism; experiencing urban art, rich culture and amazing food in Hamilton Tourism Hamilton, to highlight Burlington’s beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens, waterfront park and heritage downtown with Burlington Economic Development and Tourism, and to encourage year-round travel to Barrie and the scenic waterfront along Kempenfelt Bay, which offers endless trails and easy access to the city centre with Tourism Barrie.   We look forward to continuing to work with our tourism partners in the year to come to encourage easy and affordable travel to tourism destinations to connect our riders to staycations and day trip opportunities right here at home, in their own backyard. #TourismWeek2025 #TourismCan #TourismCounts

  • Yesterday, Metrolinx Interim President and CEO Michael Lindsay delivered a keynote presentation at the Toronto Region Board of Trade's 10th Annual Transit Symposium.   The event brought together industry leaders, policy makers and experts from across sectors to discuss strategies to alleviate congestion and ensure sustainable growth, including longer term infrastructure solutions and municipal-led actions.   We look forward to continued partnership with our municipal partners and regional stakeholders as we work to deliver a rider-focused transit system for a more connected, efficient and livable Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region.
