Behind every dish is a story — and this one starts with corn, beans, and squash. To celebrate #TourismWeek2025, we joined Explore Edmonton Corporation and Chef Brad Lazarenko, founder and executive chef at Culina Family Restaurants & Catering, alongside Ziyah Karmali the Explorer in the kitchen to prepare the Three Sisters Salad — a dish inspired by Indigenous tradition and Brad’s Métis heritage. It’s a reminder that Edmonton’s food scene isn’t just delicious — it’s deeply connected to the cultures and communities that shape it. 🎒 Want to explore the city like a tourist? Grab a free Tourism Week tote bag at the World Trade Centre Edmonton, packed with exclusive offers from local businesses and restaurants — and #BeATouristInYourOwnCity!

We've been keeping a close eye on the federal election, and 19 days in, one thing is clear: Edmonton's business community is ready to drive growth, create jobs, and build a stronger future for all Canadians. But to get there, we need federal leaders who believe in the power of business, remove barriers to growth, and create the right conditions for success. That’s why we’ve released our Federal Action Plan—a bold, practical roadmap built by business, for business. 🔗 Read the plan, share it with your local candidate, and help us shape a future where business leads: https://lnkd.in/g6trAvw2 🗓 Don’t miss the only Edmonton-wide Federal Candidates Meet & Greet, hosted by the Edmonton Chamber, on April 16 at 9:00 AM at the World Trade Centre. Limited tickets available at https://lnkd.in/gWHZWV8q.

This year’s State of the City, presented by EPCOR, isn’t a traditional mayoral address—it’s a conversation about Edmonton and our region, led by the people building it every day. This year, we’re shifting the spotlight to the state of business in our city: what’s working, what’s changing, and what’s needed to build a stronger, more inclusive economy. 🔹 Doug Griffiths, MBA – Edmonton Chamber of Commerce 🔹 Kalen Anderson – BILD Edmonton Metro 🔹 Tim Shipton – OEG Inc. 🔹 Traci Bednard, ICD.D – Explore Edmonton Corporation 🔹 Eddie Robar – City of Edmonton Together, they’ll tackle the big questions facing our city—and highlight the bold solutions already underway. This is about more than policy. It’s about people, possibility, and progress. We hope to see you there. Limited tickets are available at: https://lnkd.in/g-wJs-yZ

The Future Is in Great Hands! This week, I had the absolute honour of witnessing something extraordinary: seven groups of students who are no longer just students, but bold, thoughtful, and driven future entrepreneurs. They took the stage with courage, clarity, and conviction. Their ideas were not only creative and strategic but deeply human. Solutions built to serve, to challenge the status quo, and to make communities stronger. What I saw in them wasn’t just talent, but the spark of a generation ready to lead through empathy, innovation, and resilience. They show us that business isn't solely about scaling, it's about making a difference. To the incredible panelists who joined us over the past two days: Theresa Chika-James MBA PhD AFHEA, Jordan Bell, Cliff T., Dart Wooden, Bryan Schmidt, Jesus Gonzalez Rivas and Michael Dreger-Smylie, a heartfelt thank you! Your feedback, time, and presence added so much value to this experience, and gave these soon-to-be entrepreneurs and professionals, a powerful glimpse into the supportive ecosystem that surrounds local business owners. As their Entrepreneurship instructor at MacEwan University, it’s been a true privilege to walk alongside them on this semestre. Their growth, grit, and heart inspire me beyond words! I am grateful for having the honour to contribute to the new breed of entrepreneurs who believe in entrepreneurship rooted in purpose, built with strategy, and delivered with heart. Immense thanks to MacEwan University, Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, ATB Financial, Anderson Career Training Institute, and Paraiso Tropical - Latin Market for your support! #PurposeDriven #FutureEntrepreneurs #InnovationWithHeart #BusinessForImpact #EntrepreneurshipEducation #MacEwanUniversity #SocialImpact #LeadershipDevelopment #StrategicThinking #CommunityBuilders #NextGenLeadership #ProudInstructor #EmpoweredByEducation

What does purpose-driven chocolate look like? Antoine Lavoie, founder of Delavoye Chocolate Maker (just off 124 Street), walked Ziyah Karmali, aka Ziyah the Explorer, through his bean-to-bar process — sharing how diversity, community, and sustainability shape every part of the business. As part of our Tourism Week 2025 collaboration with Explore Edmonton Corporation, we’re spotlighting Edmonton businesses who make this city a place worth rediscovering. 🎒 Grab your Tourism Week tote at the World Trade Centre Edmonton — complete with exclusive offers from Delavoye and other local businesses — and Be a Tourist in Your Own City.
