When Mike Pinkus, CPA, CA and I started ConnectCPA LLP, we were at the centre of everything: customer meetings, process-building, recruitment, etc. - the list goes on. It felt necessary at the time, but as the business grew, we became the bottleneck. We had to make a shift. Letting go wasn’t easy - would things be done with the same care? Would customers still obtain the same experience? These were questions all business-owners face. Naturally, we started to let go. As we stepped back, we saw something great happen: when given the space and trust, your team will not only take on responsibilities - they will own them.
