An unforgettable day for Unity Design Studio Inc. – and one I’ll never forget personally. I’m feeling both proud and deeply humbled. Today marks a major milestone: the Shaw Festival officially announced the redevelopment of the Royal George Theatre, backed by a $35 million grant from the Province of Ontario. This moment has been years in the making. I’ve had the privilege of working with the Shaw for 27 years on transformative capital projects, and I can’t wait to share what our team has been designing for the next chapter of the Royal George. As if that weren’t enough… the April issue of Canadian Architect magazine was delivered today to over 20,000 locations across Canada – with The Canadian Canoe Museum on the cover and featured inside. "To understand how we might incorporate circular development practices today, it’s essential to recognize that the redevelopment of sites did not always involve the demolition and landfilling of older structures as the norm. Up until the 1910s, deconstruction was the primary method for dismantling buildings at the end of their life."
