Getting excited for warmer weather has us looking back on a big project we did for Cottage Toys in Lakefield! Our team completed the site servicing, stormwater management and grading. We even had the chance to use permeable pavers in the parking lot and entrance which is a form of Low Impact Development (LID) for stormwater management. So cool! 🤓 We can't wait for the warmer weather so we can shop for our summer toys! ☀️

Progress isn’t about standing still—it’s about moving forward with confidence. It's something we live by at Engage that we sum up into one word: Agility. It's one of our core values that define us, but they aren't just words - They shape everything we do (which is why we have them up on the wall in our office). Our Core Values guide us forward, helping us adapt, grow, and thrive in the moment. What does Agility mean for us? 👉 We embrace change, stay flexible, and continuously evolve to be the best we can be.

They look forward to meeting new people from municipalities across Ontario, and learning new things, and hearing from various leaders. For the second year in a row, we had the incredible opportunity to sponsor and support this amazing event—helping inspire the next generation of engineers! This time, students went head-to-head in the ultimate Popsicle Stick Bridge Challenge—designing and building bridges with limited materials while strategizing their way to the strongest (and most cost-effective) design. And the winning bridge? It held over 100 POUNDS! (Talk about impressive engineering!) We love being part of events like this, where future innovators get to flex their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Who knows—maybe we’ll see some of these bright minds at Engage Engineering one day! Huge shoutout to the event organizers and partners, including IEEE, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), for making this competition such a success. Can’t wait for next year! 🚀

A message from our President, Paul Hurley about a big milestone for our Water Resources Manager, Brad Parsons, who recently celebrated: "10 years ago as a young EIT, Brad took a risk, leaving a “sure thing” at another company to join a little start up with only 3 employees (including the two owners). 10 years is a big deal these days. I think someone staying 10 years at one company says a lot about that person (and hopefully a bit about the company!). It’s been incredible to see you grow both personally and professionally these past 10 years, Brad. From sharing a cramped office with Jason and John, the inaugural Jay’s game, getting your P. Eng,., starting a family and becoming a key leader at Engage, it’s been an eventful 10 years and I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished, and that Engage has been a part of it. You’ve come to embody Engage’s core values and become a leader in our company, someone that people look up to and come to for advice. And you’ve done it genuinely by being yourself. And of course you’ve brought a competitive edge - there isn’t anything that Brad can’t turn into a competition!" Congratulations Brad, from all of us at Engage, we are so proud to have you on our team!
