We had a wonderful time welcoming the New Canadians Centre to the Museum today! An excited, curious group of adults and children toured the Collection Hall and Exhibition Hall, learning about the canoe, an iconic symbol of Canada that can also be found all over the world, and how the canoe can connect us to the land, water, and each other. 🛶 🌎 Learn more about our group visits and book a fun adventure for your group today! https://lnkd.in/eWK3aqBs

Last month, The Living Traditions Studio was filled with creativity and craftsmanship as participants joined Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe instructor John Wager for a hands-on Carve a Wooden Spoon workshop on February 8th. With expert guidance, attendees learned about woodgrain, traditional carving techniques, and the history of wooden spoon-making, using only hand tools to shape their own unique creations. Through patience and skill, each participant left with not only a beautifully crafted spoon but also a deeper appreciation for the artistry and traditions of carving! 🧺 We look forward to welcoming John Wager back this Saturday April 12 to teach our SOLD OUT Weave a Black Ash Basket workshop. To see a calendar of our upcoming workshops, visit canoemuseum.ca/workshops! #Woodworking #Workshop #HandsOn #MakeAndTakeWorkshop #CanadianCanoeMuseum #PTBO #Ontario #Canada
