🟩 Lisbon’s 🇵🇹 population nearly doubles each day as people from the metropolitan area commute for work, study, or leisure across its 2️⃣4️⃣ parishes. In response, the city 🏙️ is enhancing multifunctional public spaces, promoting healthier lifestyles, and advancing its climate 🌱 neutrality goals. Over the past decade, it has invested in green infrastructure, including horticultural parks, playgrounds 🛝, seating areas, and extensive tree 🌳 planting. A major challenge ⚠️ now is measuring the impact of these efforts to ensure value-for-money and accelerate the rollout of green and blue infrastructure at the #neighbourhood level—while reducing space allocated to cars 🚗 🟥 Through the UP2030 HE #project, #Lisbon is enhancing its digital decision-making tools 🧰 to better assess the effort and impact of climate actions. The pilot will take place in #Alvalade — a parish of 30,000+ residents facing climate and social challenges. 📢 🚀 We are proud to announce K3Y Ltd's participation in the successful TORNADO #project kick-off meeting, held in #Athens 🇬🇷 on January 29-30, 2025. The 2️⃣-day #event was organized by project coordinator ITML. 💼 👥 The meeting marked a significant milestone and an exciting start to our journey toward next-generation adaptive robotics. 🤖☁️🏭🏥📦 TORNADO aims to develop an adaptive cloud robotics platform for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in complex indoor environments. It will enable precise manipulation of soft and deformable objects (SSDs) and seamless human-robot interaction through gestures and speech. Using deep neural Foundation Models (FMs)🧠, it will handle non-repetitive tasks, adapting dynamically to object variations. Human trust measurement will ensure smooth societal integration. The system will be validated in three industrial use cases: Gears Factory, Hospital Environment, and Plant Distribution Centre. 👨💼 During the meeting, our Head of R&D, Panagiotis Radoglou Grammatikis, PhD, introduced WP7 which focuses on Dissemination and Community Liaising, outlining the plans and next steps for its implementation. Beyond leading WP7, K3Y will play a pivotal role in the TORNADO exploitation plan and related strategies (T7.3), as well as in the integration of cloud and beyond-5G infrastructure (T6.3). Additionally, K3Y will contribute to the development of beyond-5G communications and the robot-to-cloud continuum (T3.5), as well as the XAI-equipped AR-based human-robot interface (T5.4), with a particular focus on adversarial XAI resilience testing and the adaptation of existing XAI frameworks. 🧑💻 We're excited to begin this journey!
