Are you attending the EU #RawMaterialsWeek? Then the following is a must-read! In the new Future Mining Scenarios, jointly developed by INTRAW and SAFE, we present a forward-looking exploration of the mining industry’s future, set against the backdrop of the year 2050. The scenarios are designed to equip decision-makers with a nuanced understanding of potential futures. We aim to foster a proactive approach to policy and strategy development, one that is adaptable and responsive to a range of possible external developments. This report is an invitation to engage with the future of the mining industry, not as a distant abstract, but as an unfolding reality that we have the power to shape. 🔗 Discover the scenarios, including the new factbook released this week on the occasion of Raw Materials Week: https://lnkd.in/dsZ9vAZg #criticalrawmaterials #RawMaterials #Foresight #Sustainability #MiningIndustry #FutureOfMining #criticalminerals #FutureMiningScenarios

Successful Public Dialogue in Baiso 🌿 On 29 March 2025, as part of the CIRAN (CrItical RAw materials extraction in enviroNmentally protected areas), ALDA implemented a dynamic public dialogue with 15 participants in Baiso (Reggio Emilia, Italy 🇮🇹), focusing on critical raw materials in environmentally protected areas. The event featured: 1️⃣ An informative session on the strategic importance of critical raw materials in today’s global context 🌍 2️⃣ A role-play activity where participants stepped into different characters to discuss assigned scenarios 🎭 The insights gained from the workshop will contribute to policy recommendations that the project will produce. After two and a half hours of engaging conversation, we wrapped up with a fun aperitivo to keep the discussions going in a more informal setting! 🍹 A big thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this dialogue a success! Together, we are building a deeper understanding of the crucial role of critical raw materials and the environmental challenges they present. 🌱 International Raw Materials Observatory - Regione Emilia-Romagna - SGU - Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) - MacCabe Durney Barnes - LPRC - La Palma Research Centre - ISPRA #PublicDialogue #EnvironmentalAwareness #CriticalRawMaterials #Baiso #CommunityEngagement
