𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 #𝟯 – 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱! In the breakout sessions, our participants will have the opportunity to engage, discuss, and shape the future of digital EPDs and LCA. 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝟮: "𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻" In the built environment, a vast range of products come into play, many of which fall outside the scope of the Construction Products Regulation (#CPR). This fragmentation makes it a challenge to collect and align product data governed by various regulatory regimes. 🤝 Here comes into play the Digital Product Passport (#DPP). The DPP enables data flow across different industries in machine readable format. It is designed to bridge these silos with the aim of reducing bureaucracy, simplifying compliance, and improving reporting obligations. In practice, what does it mean for construction? How can manufacturers start preparing today? How can tool providers help on this path? Led by Omar Amara (Vizcab, ECO Platform AISBL delegate in DPP standardisation), with insights from Espen Schulze (CEN/TC 442/WG 12) and Martin Schreck (JTC 24-WG1), this session will break down the legal and technical landscape and provide an in-depth look at how upcoming policies and technical standards are shaping the future of the DPP. It will cover the upcoming requirements from the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (#ESPR) and the Construction Products Regulation (#CPR). Moreover, key updates from the standardisation bodies CEN TC 442 and JTC 24 supporting the deployment of these regulations will be shared. Participants can expect insights into the following key aspects: ✅ Where the DPP stands today ✅ What timelines and standards to expect ✅ How it applies at product and building level ✅ What steps manufacturers should take now ✅ How ECO Platform supports this shift Join this session to gain clarity, anticipate challenges, and explore how industry stakeholders can actively shape and prepare for the DPP era! Call to Action: Endorsement and Dialogue Invited A group of established ECO EPD Programme Operators has issued a Call to Action to draw attention to critical risks and unresolved challenges related to the revised Construction Products Regulation (CPR) — particularly concerning the “Worst-Case Approach” and "Mandatory Site Inspections". This Call to Action is an initiative of the undersigned programme operators and does not represent an official position of ECO Platform AISBL. While ECO Platform recognises the relevance and urgency of the topics raised, it also acknowledges that developing a shared position requires detailed analysis, open dialogue, and consensus within its membership. This work will be undertaken through its established working groups. In the interim, this Call to Action aims to: 🟢 Raise awareness of implementation risks 🟢 Encourage constructive stakeholder input 🟢 Request endorsement and broader dissemination The Call to Action is available for download here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eRc_vEry Organisations and individuals are invited to share the statement, provide feedback, and join the discussion. 💡 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮 – 𝗘𝗖𝗢 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 💡 This post is part of our series spotlighting the sessions, topics, and speakers of ECO Conference 2025. "𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 – 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗣𝗗𝘀" Digital EPDs offer huge potential for streamlining environmental data flow – but to truly unlock that potential, manufacturers need scalable, smart systems that connect existing tools with evolving requirements. Following the panel discussion around regulatory drivers, this session will trace the journey of digital data along the construction value chain: from manufacturers to verifiers, and into the databases and tools that support decision-making. What does it take to ensure data quality and seamless scalability? 🔍 Leise Sandeman (Pathways) will kick off the session with a case study titled: "𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗣𝗗𝘀: 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗟𝗖𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀" Digital EPDs promise seamless environmental data flow, but unlocking their full potential requires a foundation of organized, automated data collection. For building materials manufacturers, this means connecting data capture with tools already in use - like ERPs and Factory Production Control systems. Too often, manufacturers meet one requirement, only to start over when the next arises. In this session, Pathways will demonstrate how automating data collection and LCA modeling simplifies compliance, boosts efficiency, and ensures adaptability for future changes. This case study will cover: ✅ Overview of the evolving EPD landscape ✅ Challenges of efficient EPDs: data collection, LCA modeling, and regulatory complexity ✅ Smart integration with data systems and Factory Production Control Tools ✅ Real-world example from a building materials manufacturer ✅ Value chain-wide benefits of a systemized, automated approach We are really looking forward to have Leise on board and are looking forward to interesting discussions!
