International Women’s Day may have been last Saturday, but here at Koala, we reckon celebrating women’s achievements shouldn’t be a once-a-year thing… 💪 🦸♀️ Over the past week, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on the incredible impact of the women in our team and beyond. We hosted a special Lunch and Learn at our Alexandria Treehouse with our amazing partners at ReLove, whose work providing essential household items to those in need—especially women—aligns perfectly with our values of inclusivity and support. This year, we’re stoked to continue backing their mission to furnish over 1,000 homes for women and families in our community through donations and hands-on volunteering. 🏡 💜 And because good news should come in bundles… 🎉 We’re beyond chuffed to have been recognized by WORK180 at The Equitable Workplace Awards last Friday in the Employee Voice/ERG category 🏆—a massive testament to our team’s commitment to making Koala an inclusive and empowering workplace. At Koala, we believe everyone deserves to be comfy in their habitat - whether that’s at home on a sofa, or in the workplace 🌈 So, to mark the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, we threw a sustainable celebration at the Treehouse with the fabulous Marzi Panne, where our Koalas got creative, turning excess Koala materials into wearable masterpieces! Sustainable? ✅ Fabulous? ✅ Unapologetically Koala? ✅ But beyond the fun, it’s the impact that truly matters 🏳️🌈 We teamed up with Twenty10 NSW to create 100% recycled floor cushions, giving new life to old Koala mattress materials and fabric samples alongside our textiles recovery partner UPPAREL. These cushions brought extra comfort to Fair Day and now have a permanent home in the Rainbow Room at Twenty10 NSW’s Community Pride Centre in Newtown, a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth. Mardi Gras isn’t just about celebration - it’s about pride, inclusion, and taking action. And at Koala, we’re proud to put those values into practice everyday ✨ #diversity #inclusion #lifeatkoala

A few years ago RMIT Online and Thinkerbell took the unusual step and co-created a short course on how to develop brand led marketing called #brandexperience. It has one of the highest ratings of all RMIT Online courses, it's now it its 3rd year, and 100's of people, agency and client side have done the course. Max the dog is sniffing out critical insights for koala conservation! 🐨 With support from Koala, who’ve donated over $3.6 million to WWF-Australia conservation efforts, Max the springer spaniel has uncovered a rare, chlamydia-free, and genetically unique group of koalas in the Dorrigo Plateau. This discovery is part of surveys conducted across 115 sites in northern NSW, as part of the Cores, Corridors and Koalas project. The surveys revealed over 80% of sites showed koala activity, a sign of hope for this iconic species. Using detection dogs like Max, the project is providing critical insights into koala health, genetics, and activity to guide conservation strategies. 💚 These koalas are facing growing threats. Logging continues in areas critical to their survival, including forests marked for the proposed Great Koala National Park.
