Interspan is excited to deliver our largest design-and-construct post-tensioning project in Victoria at Sky Square, a transformative mixed-use precinct developed by the Golden Age Group in Box Hill, Melbourne. Covering an impressive total area of 73,851.4 sqm, Sky Square consists of two distinctive towers, each rising 22 storeys high. Post-Tensioning for NewCold Melbourne II Dispatch Extension. NewCold Melbourne II is a state-of-the-art cold storage facility. Designed to offer a fully integrated one-stop solution, it accommodates ambient, chilled, and frozen storage and sets new service standards in the industry. Interspan was engaged to design and construct 4,500m² of post-tensioning for the dispatch extension zone, optimizing structural integrity while ensuring efficiency. We tailored the design using Ram Concept and RAPT software for maximum performance. To reduce material costs without compromising strength, we incorporated a 15.2mm strand throughout. Post-tensioning Innovation at Macquarie Park. The Veriu Group marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its largest hotel, Veriu Macquarie Park, in December 2024. This ambitious development by Holdmark, in partnership with Veriu Hotels, showcases an exceptional blend of retail, hospitality, and accommodation offerings, including a stunning rooftop bar. Interspan was commissioned to design and construct more than 16,600 square meters of post-tensioned slabs across more than 20 stories. Notably, the construction of a complex transfer slab on the ground floor required advanced expertise, which Interspan’s in-house design team met. The $658 million redevelopment of Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre is set to revolutionize paediatric health, research, and education in Australia. Interspan was commissioned to fully design and construct 49,000m² of suspended post-tensioned slab, completed over 74 pours. The scope included one basement level and 10 levels of clinical services, operating theatres, and patient wards. Through the efficient design of the hospital slabs, Interspan achieved a significant milestone: saving the client 300m³ of concrete.
