That’s exactly how we felt at yesterday’s 2025 Telethon event. A truly inspirational morning which showcased the generosity of the WA community, the importance of the work done by charities and the impact this has on child health. We know that good nutrition starts early - and that confidence in the kitchen plays a key role in shaping lifelong healthy habits. 🥦🥕🌽 That’s why we created nom! Children, a hands-on program designed for parents, grandparents and carers of children aged 0-5, helping them gain the knowledge and skills to provide nutritious meals and encourage positive eating habits from an early age. 🤗🤗 Recently, participants shared how nom! Children has transformed mealtimes, helping little ones explore new foods, develop independence and build confidence in eating and cooking. One participant reflected, "We are nurturing confidence through healthy eating choices." 💜 nom! Children is made possible thanks to our generous supporters Telethon7, Hawaiian and Roy Hill. For the past eight months, our friends at Keystart have been working with us and recently, they had the opportunity to experience the impact of their support firsthand. For 25 years, Foodbank WA’s School Breakfast Program has been helping kids start the school day with a full tummy and a focused mind. 💪🏼🧠 What began with just 17 schools, in 2021 grew to a record-breaking 552 schools across WA in 2024 - ensuring thousands of students have access to nutritious food before stepping into the classroom. 🤩🤩 While we are proud to reach more schools and provide this support, it’s a bittersweet milestone. 552 schools means: 🍽️ 552 schools where children arrive at school hungry 📚 552 schools where teachers and staff see the difference one meal can make 💜 552 schools helping students achieve better health, nutrition and academic outcomes Hunger shouldn’t be a barrier to learning. That’s why we are committed to fighting food insecurity and ensuring every child has the fuel they need to thrive. We believe every child deserves access to fresh, nutritious food to fuel their learning and growth. 💪🏼🧠 Since 2014, the Perth Airport School Fruit Van, generously supported by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and Perth Airport, has been making this vision a reality. Schools are pivotal in establishing healthy habits in children and teenagers. By providing consistent access to fresh fruit, we're not only addressing immediate hunger but also promoting long-term health and well-being. 🤗💜 🚚 Operating 37 weeks a year, this initiative distributes approximately 27,750kg of fruit annually, ensuring students have the energy and nutrients they need throughout the school day. 👉🏼Read more about this initiative - https://bit.ly/3DBtelS

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of fresh produce rolling into our warehouse 🥰 🥰 - and thanks to Supafresh we’re feeling extra grateful. 🚛💜 Their vibrant, nutrient-packed spinach has arrived at the perfect time, adding a delicious and wholesome boost to family meals this summer. 🥗 With so many WA families struggling to put food on the table, donations like this make a world of difference - providing healthy, refreshing and nutritious options when they’re needed most. Across Western Australia, many families are facing food insecurity. 😔😔 For those in WA’s Southwest regional communities, access to nutritious food can be even harder due to higher living costs, transport challenges and limited support services. Thanks to South32, Southern Ports and Talison Lithium longstanding Foodbank WA supporters and proud Bunbury branch partners, we have been able to increase the distribution of food by the branch, supporting Bunbury’s Mobile Foodbank for the southwest region and increasing the availability of fresh fruit, vegetables and dairy requirements for the School Breakfast Program. 🙌🙌 These partners help us to continue fighting hunger in the Southwest communities, ensuring more people have access to food when they need it most. 💜 👉 Read more about it - https://bit.ly/4bIBBII

Protein is essential for building healthy bodies and nourishing communities, but for many in our state, access to this vital resource is a daily struggle. 🍽️😔 With the generous support of the Craig Mostyn Group, we are able to provide essential nutrition to those most in need. By tackling food insecurity head-on, we help people build healthier lives. The Craig Mostyn Group has been working with us since 2023 providing weekly donations of their Linley Valley Pork range and now, through their division in Bunbury V&V Walsh, will be providing weekly donations of Amelia Park lamb shanks, lamb chops, lamb roasts and beef burgers. 🥩 👉 Read more about this partnership - https://bit.ly/4keHnpe
