AusNet is proud to stand alongside other major #transmission businesses across Australia in calling for fairer #tax treatment for rural landholders who support the delivery of new critical energy infrastructure. As featured in The Australian Financial Review today, our CEO David Smales has joined the sector in urging the Federal Government to exempt compensation and benefit payments from capital gains tax. These payments recognise the vital role that landholders play in delivering this critical infrastructure and ensuring a secure energy future for Australia. We thank the National Farmers' Federation and Energy Networks Australia for their leadership, and all the #landholders who continue to engage in good faith as we deliver transmission lines to support the delivery of reliable and affordable energy into the future. Subscribers can read the story on the AFR website.

As the RCH Good Friday Appeal approaches, a big shout-out to our team of 73 enthusiastic AusNetters and their families who laced up for the annual Herald Sun / Transurban Run for the Kids event last weekend 👟🏃🏃♀️🏁🥇😎 Whether they ran the full 14.6km, or short course 4.7km run, or walked over the iconic Bolte bridge, it was all for a great cause! With nearly 30,000 entrants hitting the pavement we were there to help raise $1.2M for the Good Friday Appeal, which supports the incredible work of the The Royal Children's Hospital Hospital. As you can see from the pics, the team lived up to their t-shirt slogan to ‘Bring the Energy’ ⚡ Special shout out to Clare Beaumont who smashed her last years’ PB by nearly 40mins. #R4K #GoodFridayAppeal #RCH #fundraiser #WeBringTheEnergy

Fantastic to join Octopus Investments Australia, Lily D’Ambrosio MP and project partners for the sod turn event at the Fulham Solar Farm and BESS. This hybrid storage facility will be the first project on AusNet’s utility energy storage system trial #tariff. Congratulations to everyone involved on achieving this significant milestone. AusNet looks forward to connecting the project to the grid, with energisation expected in Q4 of 2026. #renewables #WeBringTheEnergy #NetZero2045
We're proud to announce that Octopus Australia has reached financial close and officially commenced construction on the Fulham Solar Farm and Battery Project, in Gippsland, Victoria. To mark this significant milestone in our mission to accelerate Australia’s clean energy transition, we were joined by Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio MP, Victorian Minister for Energy and Resources and Minister for the State Electricity Commission to break ground on the site. Backed by a power purchase agreement with the Victorian State Government, Fulham will be one of the first DC-coupled solar and battery hybrid assets in Australia. Utilising market leading technology, the 80MW solar farm and 128MWh battery will generate enough energy to power 39,000 homes once operational. Throughout construction, Octopus is committed to maximising the use of local businesses, tradespeople and locally manufactured materials, ensuring the project delivers lasting benefits to the Gippsland region. 📣 We’re excited to announce that AusNet is unconditionally progressing the connection works for the Axedale and Fosterville Solar Farms and BESS. With an installed capacity of around 190MW for the Axedale Project and 200MW for the Fosterville Project, the collective installed capacity of 390MW brings AusNet one step closer to its goal of contracting and connecting over 10GW of renewable generation and storage assets. These projects are separate hybrid installations of photovoltaic (#PV) solar generation (#solar) and Battery Energy Storage systems (#BESS) being constructed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) in Axedale, Victoria. Thanks to FRV, these two projects now take AusNet’s connected renewable/ storage portfolio to just over 9GW of projects either connected to, or in the process of being connected to the National Electricity Market (#NEM). AusNet will connect the Axedale Project and Fosterville Project to the network via a new 220kV terminal station at Axedale. Once installed and fully operational, the facility would produce enough clean and #renewable electricity to power more than 88,000 homes, helping to reduce greenhouse gas #emissions by more than 300,000 tonnes of CO2 a year, the equivalent of taking about 70,000 average cars off the road 🌎 We appreciate this opportunity and look forward to working with our customer Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) to progress this strategically significant asset for the state of Victoria. We also want to acknowledge and thank our strategic supplier partners Beca, SRS POWER PTY LTD, PowerNet Constructions Pty Ltd, and Elecnor Australia in working alongside our development team in driving value for our customer and the Victorian consumer. #collaboration, #teamwork, #commongoals. Lastly, thank-you team Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and team AusNet for helping achieve the tight timeframes over the festive season. The commitment across both teams does not go unnoticed. 👏 👏 👏 #energy #transition #gridconnections #WeBringtheEnergy #NetZero2050
