It is with profound sadness that we grieve the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Laurie Paetz.   Laurie was a cherished member of our Calgary office, serving as an Event Director for one of the team’s new launch events, CEPCA.   With 25 years in the industry, Laurie was truly a remarkable person – kind, generous, and full of light. Her warmth and spirit touched countless lives.   Our thoughts and prayers are with Laurie’s family and loved ones. We feel fortunate to have had her as part of the dmg events team. In honour of Laurie’s legacy, we have made a donation to her chosen charity, The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Every year, our team at dmg events proudly visits Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs - a non-profit organization based in Dubai. Senses is the first residential care facility in the Middle East dedicated to improving the quality of life for People of Determination, including orphans and abandoned children. As event organizers, we understand the importance of genuine human connection and visits like these are a meaningful extension of what we do every day. During the recently concluded Big 5 Construct Saudi, we welcomed students from the SAUDI ENTERTAINMENT ACADEMY for a hands-on, three-day experience in exhibition operations. As aspiring event managers, they explored how exhibitions come together from the first day of build-up to the opening day. They tackled real-world challenges, applied their learning in a problem-solving treasure hunt and heard from industry partners about turning ideas into reality. It was great to see the next generation of event professionals dive into the fast-paced world of exhibitions. With dmg events firmly rooted in Saudi Arabia since 2011 and operating from Riyadh and Jeddah, opportunities in the industry continue to grow.
