World TB Day: Supporting former mineworkers with occupational lung diseases Richard Stewart, our CEO-designate, delivered the keynote speech today at the launch of the Minerals Council’s Ex-Mineworkers with Occupational Lung Disease booklet. This valuable resource provides former mineworkers with guidance on recognising occupational lung diseases, understanding their rights, and accessing compensation and support services. The booklet was launched on World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, a day that is aimed at creating awareness of the world’s leading infectious disease, with an estimated 10.8 million infections every year. It remains a major cause of death from occupational diseases. Sibanye-Stillwater is proud to be recognised with the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Ending Workplace TB Exemplar Award, acknowledging our leadership in workplace TB prevention and care.
