At Go2Africa, crafting memorable, once-in-a-lifetime adventures is what we do best - and the world has taken notice. We’re proud to announce that 21 of our Africa Safari Experts have been included in the coveted Condé Nast Traveler 2025 Travel Specialist list. With over 25 years of experience and more than 200,000+ travelers guided through Africa’s most spectacular landscapes, we know that the key to an unforgettable safari lies in meticulous planning and deep, firsthand knowledge and experience. Our experts bring exactly that - ensuring every journey is seamless, transformative, and designed to perfection. This year, we’re especially excited to welcome Monique Lange, Lorna Symons, Lauren Barnard, and Steve Meinhold to the list, joining a distinguished group of their colleagues who are also recognized for their unrivaled expertise. To celebrate, we asked them to share their top travel advice - stay tuned for their insider tips on planning the ultimate African safari. Monique Lange shares, “Planning your first trip to Africa can be quite overwhelming – and that’s why we are here! But when it comes to deciding where to go and what you’d like to do – I always recommend choosing quality over quantity. I’d rather spend more time in fewer destinations to truly take in each location, fully – than moving from place to place to see as much as you can, within a limited amount of time.” Lorna Symons shares her best travel advice to clients, saying, ”Ask lots of questions, not only about the animals but also about the culture and history of an area to get a more in-depth understanding of the country you are travelling in.” Steve Meinhold shares, “My excitement for traveling and learning has invested in a desire to pass on to my clients when creating tailor-made itineraries. Every day is a different adventure, and I thrive on creating the ultimate experiences.” Lauren Barnard shares, “My deep connections with Africa’s best lodges, private conservancies, and guides allow me to arrange exclusive experiences that go beyond the ordinary. From private game drives with renowned trackers to behind-the-scenes conservation projects or cultural immersions, I offer moments that clients wouldn’t know to ask for—or be able to access on their own." In the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara, the Wildlife Tourism College of Maasai Mara (WTC) is rewriting the narrative for young Maasai individuals passionate about conservation and the place they call home. Wildlife tourism makes up for 80% of Kenya’s tourism income, yet youth unemployment rate sits at 80%, a reality in need of change. Driven by the mission of creating a positive and sustainable change, the WTC are offering fully accredited courses in Nature Tour Guiding, Hospitality, Wildlife Conservation and more to equip the local youth to become the next generation of leaders. At Go2Africa, part of the Nawiri Group, we’re incredibly proud to be supporting this mission. For every trip that includes a stay at one of selected Kenya lodge partners, we will donate $5 directly to WTC, supporting both the education and livelihoods of over 850 Maasai landowning families. Some of our selected partners include Alfajiri Villas, The Safari Collection, Tawi Amboseli, and many more. This partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to responsible tourism and positive long-term impact, where we aim to achieve 80% employment for WTC graduates in senior roles. Can a safari ever be truly guilt-free? Travel journalist Alexandra Owens explores this thought-provoking question in her latest BBC feature, exploring the rise of sustainable safaris and how the industry is evolving to meet the demands of conscientious travelers. As she uncovers the shifting landscape of responsible travel, we're thrilled that Go2Africa’s Annual State of Safari Travel Report served as a trusted source for insight into this growing movement. Owens writes: "Now, as the pressure of climate change rises, an increasing number of travellers are seeking out environmentally and socially ethical safaris that minimise their carbon footprint. According to one report by B Corp-certified travel advisor Go2Africa, interest in sustainable safaris has grown by more than 1000% over the last four years." From carbon-conscious lodges to conservation-driven experiences, the safari of the future is taking shape - one that honors the land, its wildlife, and the communities that call it home. We’re proud to see Liesel van Zyl (Muller), our Head of Positive Impact & Product Development, featured in Forbes’ latest article on How to Spot Ethical Wildlife Tours by Emese Maczko. At Go2Africa, we believe in curating responsible and ethical safari experiences - which means working with partners who align with our conservation values. As Liesel shares in the article: “It’s not always easy to tell upfront. We conduct thorough audits to determine whether we want to work with a partner.” When it comes to wildlife sanctuaries, we recognize their vital role in rehabilitation and release. However, as Liesel emphasizes, we draw the line at those that engage in breeding, trading, or using animals for performance. A huge thank you to Alexandra Owens for highlighting Liesel’s expertise and shining a light on the importance of ethical safaris! At Go2Africa, we’re passionate about conservation and supporting brands that make a real impact. That’s why we spent a day in the Winelands with Painted Wolf Wines, a winery that’s doing things right - crafting exceptional South African wines while championing the survival of one of Africa’s most endangered predators: the painted wolf (African wild dog). Through every bottle, Painted Wolf Wines supports the Endangered Wildlife Trust, a leading force in the fight to protect and restore wild dog populations across Africa. With fewer than 7,000 of these remarkable animals left in the wild, every initiative counts. Through our ongoing partnership with EWT, Go2Africa has pledged to donate $20 for every trip booked with us that includes a night at one of our selected Kruger camps. Our donations help provide funding for EWT's conservation projects, including the tracking and monitoring equipment required to provide protection for endangered species such as the vulnerable African wild dog (‘painted wolves') population found in this region. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ePdqdQxN Watch our journey as we discover how wine and conservation go hand in hand. Together, we can sip, support, and safeguard Africa’s incredible wildlife. #Go2Africa #PaintedWolfWines #Conservation #EndangeredWildlifeTrust #AfricanWildDogs #WinesForWildlife

As we reflect on the five-year journey since the onset of COVID-19, the travel industry has undergone profound transformations. Mia Taylor’s latest article for TravelPulse, "Five Years Later: The Travel Industry Reflects on COVID-19's Impact," offers an insightful analysis of these changes. We are honored that our Managing Director, Maija de Rijk-Uys, contributed our perspectives to this comprehensive discussion. In the article, Maija discusses the resilience and adaptability of African tourism, highlighting how the pandemic has reshaped travel preferences and the industry's approach to sustainability. Her insights underscore the importance of innovation and community engagement in navigating these unprecedented times. She shares, "The pandemic forced a major reset in the travel industry, shifting traveller priorities and the way businesses operate. We’ve seen a definitive move towards more intentional and personalised travel experiences. Guests are traveling with greater purpose - whether it’s seeking deeper cultural connections, prioritising sustainability, or investing in once-in-a-lifetime journeys. There has also been a rise in slow travel, with people spending longer in destinations to truly experience a place rather than rushing through a packed itinerary."
