The document presents a method for reducing switching losses in a voltage source converter (VSC) using a DC link fuzzy logic controller. A DC link model is created with IGBT switches, a capacitor and inductor. Signals from the capacitor voltage and current are input to the fuzzy controller. The controller output activates the IGBT switches to make the DC link voltage zero during converter state changes, enabling zero voltage switching and reducing losses. Simulation results show reduced power dissipation in the switches when a parallel VSC is added to the DC link. The fuzzy logic control approach provides robust and reliable control of the DC link to enable lossless switching of the VSC.
