The document proposes a PAPR reduction technique for OFDM systems using Tone Reservation (TR) along with a Gradient algorithm. It allocates some subcarriers as unused tones reserved for PAPR reduction. The transmitter structure consists of TR reservation, IFFT, and an iterative Gradient Algorithm (IGA) that detects peaks and adds a phase-rotated correction signal to reduce the PAPR below a threshold. Simulation results show the TR technique significantly reduces PAPR compared to no unused carriers, lowering the probability of high PAPR occurrences for both BPSK and QPSK modulations.
