At the Information Management Summit held in February Jane Cope presented a session entitled “Will Cloud computing transform Information Management” in which she discussed the types of cloud options and the pros and cons. The gist was that moving to cloud won’t change Information Management, but it will influence and impact the way in which we work, and subsequently the way in which we manage our data which fuels information management.

However, security concerns, reliability questions, and a lack of confidence in the technology are limiting customer adoption. The country needs infrastructure upgrades, new laws and policies, and incentives to address gaps in order to realize cloud computing's benefits. Government support will be important to build reliability and address reliability concerns that are currently barriers for potential customers.

According to a 2025 market analysis by Yole Développement, the global MEMS IC substrate market is projected to reach $3.8 billion by 2027, growing at a robust CAGR of 9.2%. This growth is fueled by surging demand from automotive, healthcare, consumer electronics, and industrial IoT applications. This talk will build on long-term work on AI & HCI and more recent work funded by EU TANGO and SoBigData++ projects.
