Automating processes and file conversions in ProjectWise has caused consultants numerous headaches in recent years. This presentation will explore the inner workings of ProjectWise and FME, walk through a world of complex documentation and experimentation, and explain how to access and make the most of remote APIs with FME.

Tips for other APIs

I like to give a technical presentation about how to synchronize and release ArcGIS Portal Items between different instances of ArcGIS Portal like migrating certain items between a Staging and a Production environment. Those Items can be service types, maps, apps, or groups. In doing so I am using FME as a central spot of interaction between those environments. The aim is to maintain and synchronize several ArcGIS Enterprise instances that belong to one bigger deployment including TEST and PROD environments without a lot of manual maintenance. The developed workspaces make us of ArcGIS functionality based on the Python and REST API for ArcGIS. In this project, I am using FME Desktop and FME Server (Automations, FME Server Apps, Dynamic Engines).

Synchronization and determinism are important considerations when selecting an industrial control system and the associated fieldbus. Additionally, it’s important for field devices to have network-wide interrupts for activating outputs, capturing input data, oversampling or latching events. These are all significant facets in the overall network synchronization scheme. This can be done using a standard Ethernet network adaptor, all without the overhead of IEEE 1588.
