The American College Center for Military and Veterans Affairs
Education
Providing financial knowledge, educational support, and career opportunities for military members and their spouses.
About us
The mission of the American College Center for Military and Veterans Affairs is to empower active duty, guard and reserve members, veterans, and their spouses as they transition to the civilian workforce and into the financial services sector, while also expanding their financial services knowledge. Along with its founding partner and sponsor Penn Mutual, the Center for Military and Veterans Affairs accomplishes this through a variety of offerings, including full scholarships to The College’s top-flight designation and certification programs for military members, veterans, and their spouses, career services support and mentorship, community outreach and networking with military resource groups, and more. There are a variety of career paths available to those with a military background in the financial services profession, from financial planners and advisors to agents, adjusters, human resources professionals, executive leaders, and more. The particular skills of those transitioning from military into civilian life lend themselves strongly to a profession where they can continue to serve others and promote the financial wellness of their fellow citizens. The College and the Center are proud to support those who serve, and our generous donors allow us to offer exclusive scholarships for access to flexible, distance learning and training. Scholarships are awarded based on military status, financial need, accomplishments, and other extenuating circumstances, and the Center has awarded them to over 1,600 individuals since 2012. To support scholars in transition, the Center partners with multiple military organizations to offer educational support and career advancement opportunities, and through events such as the annual Military Summit with educational workshops, professional development opportunities, and a moving, patriotic award ceremony honoring the year’s Soldier-Citizen Award recipient: a former service member who embodies sacrifice, service, and selflessness.

Advancing Financial Readiness Through Partnerships At First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF), we believe that financial readiness is mission readiness—especially for our military community. That’s why we actively seek partnerships that expand access to financial education and career opportunities for service members, veterans, and their families. One of our most impactful collaborations is with The American College of Financial Services (Center for Military & Veterans Affairs). Through this partnership: ✅ We contribute to their scholarship programs, helping military service members and spouses pursue careers in financial services. ✅ We have accredited our TAKE COMMAND® program, enabling eligible learners to earn college credit in Consumer Finance Education at no cost. Anyone with a high school diploma who meets The American College’s entry requirements can receive up to three college credits based on their completion of TAKE COMMAND courses—free of charge. Access the courses here: https://lnkd.in/eKgr3EDA. For those in uniform or transitioning to civilian life, financial knowledge can be the difference between opportunity and hardship. As a veteran and now CEO & President of FCEF, I understand firsthand how critical it is to have the tools to make informed financial decisions. At FCEF, our mission is clear: 📌 Provide superior financial education to the military community 📌 Fund scholarships to support their educational and career goals If you believe in empowering military families through financial readiness, I invite you to join us.
