At our quarterly Corporate Philanthropy Partners lunch and learn session last week, Dr. Benjamin Mackie presented an overview of the Heart and Vascular Institute and Dr. Shone Almeida shared the details of our new cardiometabolic program, which aims to detect problems and prevent a heart attack before it can happen. On a tour, members met with Dr. Fadi Matar and got the opportunity to see the cath and 3D printing labs, where innovative work is being done. If you are interested in learning more about the program, please contact cpp@tgh.org.

Earlier this week, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the TGH Behavioral Health Hospital. Community response leading up to this has been truly remarkable. $1.1 million in private contributions have been made to expand access to world-class mental health care! Longtime TGH supporters Dick and Francine Dobkin contributed $500,000, recognizing the urgent need for comprehensive care across all generations. And an additional $600,000 in anonymous gifts has also been received to support our mission. As Florida’s only freestanding behavioral health hospital, this new facility—developed in partnership with Lifepoint Health® and USF Health—will provide expert, compassionate care in the Tampa Medical & Research District. Thank you to our generous donors for investing in the future of mental health care. 💙 #WeAreTGH

Our Foundation team was so honored to celebrate David Pizzo’s life with our partners at Florida Blue.
Earlier this week, we gathered at the TampaWell Community Garden with Florida Blue for a special tree planting ceremony in memory of David Pizzo. The loquat tree, chosen for its plum-like fruit, held deep meaning for David’s family—his children, Lauren and Chris, grew up with plum trees their parents planted at their childhood home. It was a touching tribute to a remarkable leader and friend. After the ceremony, we came together for a group activity, laughing yoga, which brought so much joy and peace to the moment. TampaWell is dedicated to creating a healthier, more connected community through wellness-focused initiatives like this, and we’re so proud to see that mission continue to come to life! A huge thanks to our Corporate Philanthropy Partner, Florida Blue, whose support helped build the garden and the adjacent Florida Blue Classroom. 🌿💚🌱 #WeAreTGH #TampaWell

🌟 Official Announcement: USF/TGH Otolaryngology, Second Annual Night Out for Head and Neck Cancer! 🌟 In honor of World Cancer Day, we are thrilled to announce that our Second Annual Night Out for Head and Neck Cancer will take place on April 10th at the Columbia Restaurant in Tampa. The treatment of head and neck cancers is complex, often leaving our patients with lifelong speech and swallowing challenges that can limit their ability to enjoy eating in public. For one evening, we pause to celebrate our patients and their families, allowing them to connect more deeply with our team and others facing similar challenges. Join us in our goal of raising $15,000 to make this an unforgettable and impactful evening. All donations will go directly to our USF/TGH Head & Neck Cancer patient community to either cover the cost of attending this event or support various activities held throughout the year. Your support can make a significant impact in the lives of our head & neck cancer survivors and their families. #USFOtolaryngology #HeadAndNeckCancer #CancerAwareness #CommunitySupport #HealthcareHeroes #TampaGeneralHospital

Our friends at Bristol Myers Squibb's Tampa office took the time to make Valentine's Day cards with a little treat for Tampa General Hospital patients. How sweet are they? Grateful team members in the TGH Burn Center: A TECO Partnership accepted the cards to be passed out on the unit.

At our Corporate Philanthropy Partners breakfast, the TGH Foundation inducted several of our wonderful partners into the Gordon Keller Society for overall giving of more than $1 million. Keller, who died in 1909, was the visionary Tampa civic leader who was remembered with a hospital named for him in 1910. We are so thankful for the likewise visionary leadership at Belcher Pharmaceuticals, LCC, Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Kimmins Contracting Corp., McNICHOLS CO., the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Steel Corp. and TECO Energy. https://lnkd.in/dk7R7T8w
