Bonnie came to CBMC with what she thought was anxiety. A series of tests showed that she would need to undergo open heart surgery for a mitral valve repair. After a successful surgery, the CTICU team realized Bonnie was celebrating a milestone birthday and they sprang into action, throwing her a birthday party to commemorate her special day. Thank you to the Bonnie for choosing CBMC and thank you to the excellent care and teamwork of the CTICU team. #LetsBeHealthyTogether

Bob Pignatelli is a familiar face around the halls of CBMC, recently celebrating his 45th anniversary with the system. When he came home from work one day, he noticed his hands, arms, legs and feet were starting to swell. His wife, a retired nurse, knew he was going into heart failure, and he was rushed to the hospital. Under the care of Dr. Sabino Torre, Dr. Arash Salemi, the nurses of Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care and Step-Down units and our Cardiac Rehabilitation team, Bob is back to work fulltime. While he may not feel like he did when he started at age 24, he feels "very, very good."
