U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is turning coal ash into a commercial opportunity. Through OTT-backed partnerships with National Labs and emerging companies, new technologies are being brought to market that recover critical minerals from coal byproducts—building U.S. supply chains and reducing dependence on foreign sources. These commercialization efforts are a key part of DOE’s new strategy to modernize coal technology and secure critical materials.
