Last week, we had an amazing time playing Mahjong at the C. Baldwin Hotel's Lobby Bar with the inspiring women of the Brookfield Women’s Network (BWN)! BWN is a nationwide group dedicated to fostering a strong, supportive community of women across Brookfield. Here in our Houston office, our network is made up of nine remarkable women from diverse fields, including law, marketing, asset management, and accounting. Each woman brings a unique expertise and perspective to the Houston group. Before the games began, we kicked things off with a fun training session to make sure everyone—whether a Mahjong pro or a first-time player—could jump right in and enjoy. Through mentorship, networking, and career development, BWN empowers women to grow, lead, and succeed. After decades of dedication, leadership, and resilience, we say farewell to Mark Wright, our Director of Security and Life Safety at Brookfield Properties, as he embarks on a well-earned retirement after an incredible 39 years in the security industry. From starting as a Graveyard Field Supervisor in 1979 to leading security programs through some of Houston’s most defining moments, Mark has been an unwavering force in keeping our properties, tenants, and teams safe. Through every challenge—whether hurricanes, major events, or city-wide changes—he’s led with professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the industry. His leadership has shaped careers, inspired many, and left an indelible mark on Allen Center and beyond. Mark, you may have thought you were just passing through, but your impact here is lasting.
