For many years, condition monitoring solutions have been primarily associated with “critical” machinery 🚨. However, what exactly is meant by “critical” machinery❓ It turns out the answer is both easy and difficult. Historically, heavy process industries considered “critical” to be: 💸 Machines that ran 24/7/365 and were un-spared given their high expense 🔧Equipment often large with high costs and specialized labor requirements for repair ⚠ Serious safety consequences of failure such as fires, fines, and the costliest of all – loss of human life Today, however, our approach is changing. Condition monitoring is being used more frequently across broader asset classes and also in entirely new industries with smaller machines. What has changed is the awareness that a machine that is critical in one industry or process may not necessarily be in another. That is why we need condition monitoring solutions for all classes of machines – solutions that work together, are right-sized in terms of capabilities and costs, and that consider the failure modes of the machine along with the corresponding consequences. In this blog, we discuss the changing definition of what “critical” machinery assets are and how to assess the monitoring requirements of all your production assets. 👉 Click here to read: https://lnkd.in/dBYWEccf #Cordant #AssetHealth #AssetHealth #ConditionMonitoring #WeAreBakerHughes

On top of increasing pressures to reduce costs 💰, mitigate risks ⚠️, and unlock new growth 📈, energy and industrial organizations are also dealing with supply and demand volatility issues. Traditional operating models are no longer sufficient to maintain a competitive edge. Intelligent operations offer a pathway to apply data, AI, and automation to make decisions and drive performance. However, asset-intensive industries suffer with fragmented data and disconnected functional silos of asset performance management (APM). Defect elimination is a critical function of APM and can support in connecting these functional silos to unlock data and automation to support intelligent operations by identifying cause and effect relationships for a defined problem, generating effective solutions across the enterprise. While many organizations have attempted to overcome these issues by digitizing defect elimination, challenges remain. The key is to create a common digital thread across your organization’s enterprise asset management ecosystem to enable seamless visibility of issues from the time they are identified through the implementation of solutions. Read this e e-book to learn: ✅ 4 reasons why asset defect elimination programs struggle to deliver value ✅ How to create a strategic bridge between asset health and asset strategy ✅ Benefits of implementing enterprise-wide Defect Elimination 👉 Click here to download: https://lnkd.in/gmDan7fX #Cordant #APM #DefectEmilination #AI #Technology #WeAreBakerHughes #IndustrialSolutions

“People don’t plan to fail; they simply fail to plan” 💭 Sound planning is the key to success, and at Baker Hughes, we understand that defect elimination is crucial to ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining a competitive edge. A robust defect elimination program analyses the machinery defect and implements corrective actions to prevent future similar ones. The effectiveness of a defect elimination process can be affected by: ❌ Poor quality of the initial Root Cause Analysis, and implementation of wrong corrective actions. ❌ If the analysis is sound but poor choices were made when selecting corrective actions to be implemented. By standardizing a robust defect elimination program, you ensure that everyone in your company is using the same repeatable approach, managing the quality of the analysis to a consistently high standard. The benefits of this include: ✅ Reduction of the overall cost of running a facility, providing an advantage over competition. ✅ Improvement of plant safety and productivity. All companies have problems. It’s how effectively we learn from these issues and implement measures to prevent their recurrence, which allow teams to move forward. 👉Read this article to know more about defect elimination and the key elements that underpin an effective root cause analysis process: https://lnkd.in/gMY_dmvd #Cordant #APM #DefectEmilination #AI #Technology #WeAreBakerHughes #IndustrialSolutions
