J. Daniel and Nancy Garrison Sales Innovation Program

Last Tuesday night, we closed out the year with our Annual Awards Night! We’re proud to recognize the students and partners who consistently go above and beyond, and truly deserve the spotlight. 🎓 26 seniors earned their Sales Certificate after completing four specialized and rigorous sales courses. 📚 7 students received superlative awards for their outstanding contributions. 🏆 17 students were recognized for placing in internal competitions throughout the year. 💸 11 awards, including a cash prize, were presented to students who exceeded goals by selling golf teams, sponsorships, raffle items, and more for our Annual Tiger Paw Classic Charity Golf Tournament. ✅ 155 students across both semesters completed the Ascent Track and are now full members of SIP. 🤝🏼 8 partners were honored for their exceptional efforts and continued support of our program. We wrapped up the 2024–2025 academic year on a high note and can’t wait to see what the future holds! J. Through a partnership between #Arthrex and Clemson University, a group of 41 students representing the J. Daniel and Nancy Garrison Sales Innovation Program (SIP) and Clemson Athletics recently participated in our Representative Orthopedic Procedure Experience Simulator (ROPES) course. Students had the opportunity to explore the field of medical device representation through a unique simulated operating room and surgical procedure experience using Arthrex innovations. Special thanks to SIP Executive Director Ryan Mullins, Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Development Tori Niemann, and ROPES faculty surgeons Michael Kissenberth, MD; Benjamin Catoe, DO; and Nicholas Erdle, MD. The 15th Annual Tiger Paw Classic golf tournament was a huge success! This tournament is a collaboration between the J. Daniel and Nancy Garrison Sales Innovation Program and Clemson University Honors College students. Our 26 sales students sold every aspect of the event to meet four graded quotas throughout the semester. From securing golf teams and food sponsors to collecting silent auction and raffle items, everything was fundraised or sold by these students! The Honors CI students then took everything that was sold and executed an amazing day on the course. We are proud to announce that we raised over $28,000 to support Ripple of One, our main beneficiary! A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible, especially Professor Fine’s class, student leaders Salena Robinson and Mackenzie Perez, and Professor Carter McElveen and sales student leader Mia Fotia for their incredible efforts throughout the semester. We are 1 WEEK out from the 15th Annual Tiger Paw Classic Golf Tournament! 🤩🏌️♀️ The partnership between our SIP students and the Clemson University Honors College Creative Inquiry course students is essential in bringing this event to life. They’ve been working diligently all semester long to make it happen. The Tiger Paw Classic is a charity golf tournament benefiting a local nonprofit, Ripple of One. Our sales students are graded upon multiple quotas, where they sell golf teams, sponsorships, food, raffle items, monetary donations, and more! Everything that goes into this event has either been sold or funded through their efforts. Once the sales students meet or exceed their quotas by the deadline, the Honors Creative Inquiry students take over to plan and execute the event, ensuring everything runs smoothly on the big day. This class serves as the capstone for our SIP students, providing them with hands-on experience and a real-world look at what a career in sales truly involves. We are incredibly thankful for this partnership with the Clemson University Honors College which makes this event possible. Meet Hannah Saunders! 👋 Hannah graduated in 2021 as a member of the Sales Innovation Program and has been making an impact at TD SYNNEX ever since. She’s been thriving in her role and has some great insights to share about her journey, experiences, and life after graduation. Keep reading to hear from Hannah herself! 1.Tell us a little about yourself and your journey so far. I’ve been at TD SYNNEX for just under 4 years. I started right out of college as a Discovery Rep after getting my job through the Sales Innovation Program my senior year. I worked as a Business Development Rep and Inside Sales Rep in Security and Networking before transitioning to my current role as Client Executive in the Audiovisual space for the past two years. Fun fact: Every manager I’ve had also started their career at TD SYNNEX right out of school – and they’re all still here! 2. How did your experience with SIP help prepare you for your current role at TD Synnex? When you first start working, almost every single person you talk to will have more experience and knowledge than you, which can feel very intimidating. Through the Sales Innovation Program, I had the opportunity to meet company executives, managers, and sales professionals early on. Having that exposure helped lessen the intimidation factor, build my confidence, and give me a head start in navigating the business world. It made stepping into my first role feel much less overwhelming and set me up for success. 3. What advice would you give to current students who are looking to pursue a career in sales? Early in your career, say yes to everything. Cold call the list of 50 accounts that nobody wants to touch. Play in the charity golf tournament (even if you’ve never swung a golf club). Attend the conference after hours. Say yes to the coffee chats and networking events. You never know which conversation or opportunity might open a door for you!
