Why you need to stretch

Mom is on her phone listening to videos.

Baby bro is by the door.

Construction is going on now in the neighborhood.

It's cloudy — 44 degrees here in New York.

Let's talk about why you need to stretch.

------------------------------

The biggest health tip I've ignored for years is this.

Stretching. That's right. Stretching.

I used to cringe, because I didn't know how to do it.

Since then, I've made some progress.

Why you need to stretch helped me (and can help you too).

1. To relieve stress.

Hold on. Relieve stress?

Yes.

When you stretch, you relax your muscles.

Sometimes during the day, you feel some stiffness from sitting all day.

Try this.

Take a quick second and lift your arms high above your head.

That felt good, right?

A friend gave me a tip 4 years ago before you stretch.

"Go into a stretch slowly on your first try. If it hurts, reduce or stop stretching."

She's right.

Give yourself space and grace. Adjust as you go.

2. To give your best and do more.

A good coach or accountability partner wants you to succeed.

Sometimes you may give 99%. And even 100%.

The best will push you past your limits.

And it will sting a bit.

Some examples are:

Losing weight

Your goals

Projects

The right people will help you stretch. Find them. They want the best for you.

3. To teach people.

You may know someone who needs a little nudge. Encouragement.

Teach them what you know and you help them grow.

Hopes this helps you stretch more.

See you in the next one!

Talk soon,

Craig

I really need to stretch more (for longer) after working out. I spend very little time stretching. Thank you for the reminder Craig Davis.

Nice one Craig Davis Tip 3 stood out for me, it's really not easy to reach out to help someone who is struggling, It's really a stretch. But at the end it's worth it, because it leaves you feeling fulfilled and relieved.
