8yThomas this is revolutionary from a self-service BI standpoint. Here is what I mean by that. In a traditional data warehouse scenario, the business requests a report, a business analyst take the requirements and deliverers it to the SSRS developer... and a few months later the business finally has this report. With Power BI, technology can just create a tabular model and a view and the business can have access to the data to create their own visualization. Plus now you can mashup data from different sources (SQL + Excel + Hadoop + CSV) in one spot without months of ETL. These reports... or dashboard can also be refreshed daily, or by the hour, or even in real-time in some cases. Now instead of waiting months to get a weekly report that's "close enough", the business had real-time intelligence in their hands as soon as it's available.
