Where can I find Machine Learning or AI courses in India?

I don’t know if any reputed institutes is offering it. If you want to do that best thing is to do a Mtech or Phd from IITs or NITS. There you will get to learn lot of things and you will have time to do research work.

Plus point is you don’t have to worry about placements.

If you don’t want to learn full time and then do self learning. Lots of study material are available online. I don’t think doing PG -diploma or so called PG programs is of much use. It’s not bad but it’s cost too much. And same thing you can learn online on UDEMY or UDACITY for free or few bucks.

So what you can become is either one of these:

  1. Statistician (Statistical analysis/inference)
  2. Statistical Modelling/Forecasting(See link here)
  3. Data Analyst(EDA/Data Visualization)
  4. Natural Language Processing(NLP Engineer)
  5. Image processing
  6. AI Engineer

So I will tell one by one how to become one of these:

Statistical Analysis-

If you are pursuing statistics or mathematics as a degree, you can opt for it. This is a great field where you will apply simple statistics techniques like finding variance, median etc. to estimating election results using inferential statistics. Study from these links:

Statistical Modelling-

Statistician say it statistical modelling and computer engineers machine learning. But both are almost the same except when you study statistical modelling it focus more on statistical terms like hypothesis testing and uncertainty. While machine learning purely focus on problem to solve.

ISLR written by Stanford professors are best for starting with it. You also have a YOUTUBE VERSION of the book. For more advanced and learning it using mathematical treatment study ESLR( you have to be a expert in calculus for this)

For PHD guys you already must have known about these books. ISLR is good for who are not a statistics person.

I strongly recommend to go through all of it.

For machine learning here are some best content:

Geogia TECH

Google

Deep learning by Google

Data Analyst:

It requires you to explore patterns in data by going through data manually. Plotting charts etc. This is also in great demand. These also will land you in great jobs if not as good as machine learning/statistical modelling.

SQL

R programming

Tableau

Data Visualization by Georgia Tech

Natural Language Processing:

It requires you good programming skills(Python), data cleaning(regular expressions) and NLP techniques with machine learning/deep learning knowledge(mandatory) . Lots of demand is there for NLP engineer.

Image Processing:

You need to master deep learning for doing effective image processing such as object detection/face recognition etc.

AI Engineer:

Artificial Intelligence is sometimes confused with machine learning/programming. The thing is great statistician are not inclined towards solving computer science problems. So we need computer scientist who can write intelligent algorithms and apply machine learning.

AI by Georgia Tech

AI Introduction

AI for robotics

So this ends the story what compromises in Data Science. AI is not Data Science but related. So again I will say ‘Data Science’ does not exist. See all above links. Be wise explore all and see how much you can understand.

For average guys, I suggest Data Analyst.

For smarter guys , I suggest machine learning/statistical modelling.

For genius I say - AI is for you.

Rest I am not super knowledgeable but I work on NLP/machine learning/deep learning. So I am just sharing what I have learnt during my journey.

I learnt along my job with few bumps here and there. But after 4 years when I look back I know I have come a long way.
