Starting 2022 With A Bang
If you’ve been keeping up with Ian’s LinkedIn posts, you’ll already know that I recently stepped up to Managing Director of Silven Recruitment.
If you haven’t… surprise!
Of course, this wasn’t a spontaneous decision. Ian has been preparing me to transition into this role since 2021, and I’m excited to take on more responsibilities this year.
So, how is this different from my previous position?
The main difference (aside from the ‘boring’ stuff like making sure everyone gets paid!) is that I’ll be taking the lead in how quickly we want Silven to expand.
As Managing Director, I’ll also be heavily involved in the direction we take the business in – an enormous yet exciting task.
Day to day, I’ll continue to ensure everything runs smoothly for our people, our candidates, and our clients. After all, maintaining a quality relationship with our team, as well as existing and prospective customers, is far more important than revenue.
Feedback automation platforms will certainly help here – something we want to use more in the business!
Ultimately, I’ll be freeing up Ian to focus on our long-term growth plans and the overall strategic development.
Oh, and not to toot my own horn, but…
“I’m incredibly proud to see Jez take this position and lead the team into 2022 and beyond, and I’m already working on some major plans to help Jez take the business to the next level.” – Ian Simkins.

The reason I love what I do
It might sound cliché, but I genuinely love the team I work with, and watching them develop is the most rewarding aspect of my job.
I’m 35 now, and I’ve been working at Silven since I was 25 years old. I’ve seen people in the same position I was in 10 years ago (with little-to-no experience) become managers in such a short period of time.
This brings me a lot of joy, and I’m so grateful that I get to work with the most passionate, driven, and genuinely amazing people.
Want to join our interim team?
That’s right, we’re hiring!
Wondering why you should choose Silven? Well, unlike many other businesses, we’re very laid back – and so is our interview process!
We don’t do smoke and mirrors.
From day one, you’ll understand exactly what you’re in for. If you’re successful in your first interview, you’ll be invited to a second (and final) interview.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to speak directly to the group, ask them questions, and learn what it’s like to work for Silven.
We’ve got big plans for 2022, so if you’re interested in joining our interim team, drop me or Amy Griffith a message for further details.
“Emma and Jeremy were brilliant and got my interviews scheduled very quickly and had an offer with the business. All of this happened within a week and the team have done a fantastic job. Thank you.” – Silven Candidate.
