How to Put "Fun" Back In Fundraising
Fundraisers, whether in the nonprofit sector or the for-profit sector, have a tendency these days to be way too serious most of the time. They are all too often overly-stressed, anxious and worried. They seem to have forgotten to put “fun” back into their fundraising---for themselves, their donors or investors, their colleagues, staffers or volunteers and the public at large. The time is long overdue for that to change.
So, beginning today, with the help of your entire organizations and teams, re-discover inner joy and happiness about what you are raising funds for and for the process of raising them. Add greater creativity, spirit, and, when appropriate, even some whimsy to it all. Consider new techniques and approaches and a new spirit of discovery and adventure as you engage in the finding of funding. And, however you decide to fundraise, be sure to make it “fun”!
