Pay it forward

Pay it forward

As I log onto LinkedIn each Monday morning, my heart sinks as I read another notification about layoffs. I know that many job seekers are experiencing a challenging and stressful time, and while kind messages of support can be comforting, they don't provide the practical assistance that job seekers truly need - interviews.

As someone who has been working in Talent Acquisition for over 26 years, I have built up a vast network of connections and contacts. I realized that I could use this network to offer personal introductions to people I knew who were seeking job opportunities. Over time, I was thrilled to see that several of these job seekers landed interviews and ultimately secured job offers.

It was then that I had an idea - what if I could use my network to help anyone who needs it? I made the decision to quit my full-time job as a Director of Talent Sourcing and started building up a new kind of community, one where the focus is on paying it forward.

I developed a cohort model that encourages each person to share job opportunities with three other people, who then share with another three people and so on. By doing this, we can create a vast networking empire, simply by being kind and supportive to each other.

It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to see how this initiative has taken off. By helping job seekers connect with potential employers, we are not only making a difference in their lives but also creating a positive ripple effect. When someone secures a new job, they can use their newfound connections to help others in the same situation, and the cycle continues.

As we navigate the challenges of today's job market, it's more important than ever to come together and support each other. If you're a job seeker looking for opportunities or a recruiter looking to connect with top talent, I encourage you to reach out and join our community. Together, we can make a difference and build a brighter future for everyone.

If you are in Talent Acquisition and interested in joining a cohort, let me know by connecting with me. Our next cohort invitation goes out the 3rd week of April.

This is great Joie! Always appreciate your helping others.

You are such a special soul. Even if I am looking for a job myself I have created a photo album of screenshots for some people looking for jobs as well. When I come across one I share it right away and wishing him/her good luck . As you wrote , I feel happy to help . It is very rewarding.
